I was about to.... However, I do think that this year's list, and I think I said that at the start already, was okay-ish. Lots of people on the list are okay-ish. Not a lot of terminally ill people, but also not easy to drop. If I had to choose, I'd probably drop Dick Van Dyke, Harry Belafonte and David Attenborough instead - even though they are totally A-List. Sandy Gall wrote a book this year.

Ahem... almost time for a Christopher Lloyd vs. Michael J Fox poll.

Quick update.... Yes, I had to add Maury Wills for Cpt. Hemlock. Another left-field hit for him...it took some time, but now, they are finally falling one by one. Plus, I also had to correct an obscure error that happened because I had so many Frank Williams' in my excel file... Grand Uncle Bulgaria profits, for one. In terms of new hits, we had Phil Read for MariNisia and me. Indeed, my posts are always worth reading But there is also Bruno Latour, for drol, msc and DevonDeathTrip.. Plus, there is mother of country Loretta Lynn, hit for quite a few people. And finally, Peter Tobin also goes into the bin here. Many players rejoice. The Top two are unbothered by all the hits, but the followers are making up some ground. The USA's most favourite German in the 60s and 70s, actress Elke Sommer, sold her Hollywood mansion in March: https://www.dirt.com/gallery/entertainers/actors/elke-sommer-house-holmby-hills-1203462922/ Back in Bavaria, she almost had her legs amputated because their blood circulation was pretty much completely gone: https://www.bild.de/unterhaltung/leute/leute/elke-sommer-ihr-drohte-die-bein-amputation-80679498.bild.html (The Bild article also has a picture of Franz Beckenbauer who kind of looks worse than she does, even though he's five years younger. In fact, I think he's looking slightly sick of cancer.)

Barbara's caretakers keep her from watching the news because she thinks she should be covering them and gets enraged. She has "few lucid moments" now, is seemingly in her appartment all the times: https://okmagazine.com/p/barbara-walters-caretakers-stop-her-from-watching-news-broadcasts-prevent-outbursts/

I'm going through my longlist, so you probably get a lot of minor updates on old names now... anyway.... here's a 2021 interview with Liberace's driver, Scott Thorson: https://www.thedailybeast.com/a-prison-interview-with-scott-thorson-wonderland-murders-witness-and-liberaces-pet He says he was released from prison "15 months ago", which would have been March 2020. Since then however, his "health started failing" because he had been shot in prison and had colon cancer. The treatment killed the nerve endings in his leg and he has chronic pain now... So, he was released in 2020 and got into a car accident. He consequently missed a court date and couldn't do his rehab program, yadda yadda yadda... he's back in prison.

Most recent thing I could find: https://www.kentonline.co.uk/medway/news/harry-potter-star-feeds-lemurs-at-kent-zoo-266787/ He feeds animals at the zoo. The photo shows him being old, a little haggard, but still age appropriate, in my opinion. If he has dementia, it's pretty early. Edit: So yeah, this is not the same article Ulitzer already posted. It's just that he was once in the Zoo in march, and then again, in May. Maybe he had forgotten he was in the zoo just two months before?

Now he has a biography out - says it's unlikely he sees his 80th birthday, which is still 8 years away though: https://www.theguardian.com/education/2022/oct/05/the-more-dangerous-the-operation-the-more-i-wanted-to-do-it-neurosurgeon-henry-marsh-on-mistakes-and-mortality

If we assume that Julia Reichert / Nigel Starmer-Smith cancel each other out, so to say... then yes, just as you predicted, George Alagiah might be the crucial pick. You both have Phelan and Frank Field. Though you do have Don West, too.

Curiously, Jack Thomas would have received a DDP QO because of an australian radio host eulogizing him: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11285153/Sydney-radio-host-2GBs-Ben-Fordham-breaks-Boston-Globes-Jack-Thomass-death.html

Well, in very recent news, he's been granted a hearing for parole next year, it's going to be his 11th attempt: https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/20001409/notorious-paedophile-sidney-cooke-freedom/

Ah, so the cancer/hospice rumours were in fact untrue. He had a hip operation.

Tony Brown, that NBA referee with pancreatic cancer, he's in "hospice", though actually, hospital: https://www.wsbtv.com/news/local/atlanta/clark-atlanta-community-uplifts-former-nba-referee-battling-cancer/YPQZACEP7NGXNLJ2FEZOFMQ64M/ -
Lindsey Buckingham cancels more concerts, probably still heart related: https://people.com/music/lindsey-buckingham-cancels-european-tour-dates-amid-ongoing-health-issues/ I think the big 5 might just drop like dominoes eventually.

Interesting, thanks, I missed that. Makes me wonder what it could be. Dementia, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's. None would allow conducting, but I'd assume you'd have seen signs by now if it was one of these things. Maybe he had a mini-stroke, an aneurysm, or something like that? He doesn't want to cancel everything, but the message also sounds like a good bye. -
And, do my eyes deceive me? She's a solo hit for you.

German news saying that the early presentation of the "real" budget will not happen after all.... these people need to be put out of their misery. Okay, Kwasi Kwarteng will be out in a few days (or hours?). Liz Truss will go shortly afterwards. What then? Can the Tories just put Rishi Sunak on the top? I mean, it does sound like the "best" solution for them. I assume that BoJo is just waiting in the background to return, but Truss' implosion came too fast. So he has to let somebody else pass for now. So I suspect that Rishi Sunak will experience a lot of inner sabotage, just so that he loses the next general election - which he will probably do, anyway. But yeah, you've got to be sure.
