Who will win the Democratic Nomination for President in 2020?
gcreptile replied to Joey Russ's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
Bernie must have gotten a dismal sneak peek at the Wisconsin results. He would have faced lots of questions anyway, as he forced this primary during Corona. -
My biggest issue with this year's list... it's definitely good, but ah, it could have been great, i.e. record-breaking.
-
Indeed, considering we've been like vultures around him for a year or two, a bit disappointing.

Yeah, good guess. Bureaucratically likely. I have to go with Boxing Day then. Edit: I want to point out that China didn't report any deaths yesterday, so about 3 months after lockdown, if you can believe it.

I wondered if he "at least" might suffer permanent lung damage.

Had to look up what Mr. In-Hospice-according-to-a-random-tweet-for-a-whole-year Stanley Crouch is up to. Found this on Twitter (Ah, Twitter - my bane and my salvation):

Tonight we have a "Pink Moon" - some say it could mean the end of the world: https://www.thesun.co.uk/tech/11344706/pink-moon-meaning-conspiracy-theory/ Edit: Huh, could have sworn this was in extracurricular...

It does seem to be a more quiet update - but maybe I have missed something in this age of Corona. If so, tell me. New hits are: Albert Uderzo, Honor Blackman and William Frankland. Ignacio Trelles could be a unique hit for Sir Creep, but hasn't received a QO so far. Rank Team Points 1 gcreptile 472 2 Death Impends 431 3 Banana 427 4 RadGuy 392 5 Cpt. Well, it was pointed out here that both Labour and Conservatives have usually needed 3-4 elections to recover after disastrous defeats and regain power. Maybe there'll be a couple of them in quick succession...

Some article in the Guardian about Iran calling China's numbers a joke... ... anyway, Iran might be the first example of what happens after "flattening the curve". They did manage to stop the escalation in mid-march, followed by a decline in deaths. But in the three weeks until now, it became obvious that the deaths merely plateau-ed. So maybe Spain and Italy are doomed to go through 3 more weeks of 800 deaths per day once they hit the daily maximum. Actually, Italy has probably gone through about 10 days of this already. And Spain hit the maximum a few days ago. UK and USA might not be at the maximum yet. And three more weeks at a maximum level of 1.500 deaths in the USA means 31.500 more deaths in the USA. Hmm... well, the predictions right now are actually much worse.

Go on - Show Us Your Warnings.....
gcreptile replied to Deathray's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
My ... "warning". Is that what the kids are calling it now? -
I just read that the median time of death is 18 days after showing the first symptons. He was diagnosed 11 days ago? Maybe the first symptoms a day or two before? If it moves this slowly we might be waiting 2-3 days until we know how it ends.

Well, I was wondering which charts to pick, german or American? Well, the german no. 1 was "I Swear" by Boyz II Men. Which somehow, is more American than the Billboard no. 1 "Stay" by Lisa Loeb. Of course, the latter is a better quarantine song.

Curious.... This is a previous forum mention of Joe Exotic, who since Deathray's post, achieved global fame as main character of Netflix' quarantine hit "Tiger King". He's now hospitalized with Coronavirus: https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/entertainment/2020/04/star-of-netflix-s-tiger-king-joe-exotic-hospitalised-for-coronavirus-in-prison-reports.html

I think this is a Bob Gibson update, the octogenarian with pancreatic cancer, but it's behind the EU wall for me: https://www.stltoday.com/sports/baseball/professional/resilient-cardinals-legend-gibson-throws-cancer-a-curve/article_94bb386f-a16a-51e9-87d5-7dc0d04b831f.html

Somehow I thought he was dead for some time.... "Ain't no Sunshine" has some biographical meaning to me. I also like Use Me, mainly the Grace Jones version, but the original isn't bad either.

Congrats to my opponent Torva and good luck to everyone! I am a bit sad I cannot participate in this wild lottery. The team I sent yesterday was simply the 11 oldest notable centenarians according to Wikipedia. Plus subs further down the list.
