Eh, might as well post my update on my own picks: Leah Bracknell - her petite figure means she'll run out of strength soon. I think she has already lost some substance, and the process may accelerate rapidly at some point. Thinking of an August-September death Valeri Spiridonov - could die from the operation, could also die naturally. I'd rate his chances of surviving the year lower than 50%, but he's not a dead cert Gord Downie - I "feel" as if his death is coming in May-June, a question of when Greg Gilbert - latter half of the year death, quite possibly very late in the year Errol Christie - turning into a statistical outlier, his death could be expected any day, or not at all Dmitri Hvorostovsky - can't shake it off, will not die tomorrow, but a very solid "2nd half of the year"-pick Sharon Laws - the last I heard of her was a "I cannot win, but I will fight" post. It's the Joey Feek-cancer, only that Laws is on a delayed timeline, a little fitter but also just slightly older. Maybe September or October. Connie Johnson - She'll die this year, only question is when. She had a very depressing post late 2016, so I'm fairly certain. Daisy Berkowitz - just saw a new update, and he's doing ok. I read before that he was forced to try something new which caused me to pick him. He's about to start a new chemo regimen, so not all is lost. DJ Casper - no updates, as far as I can tell. So I guess it means he's still going to die, and probably this year Mao Kobayashi - out of hospital for now, but the latest stint was the longest. Cancer is still everywhere. She's buying time. Maybe she'll survive the year. Catherine Nevin - I guess she should be dead by now? You can never trust inmates... though she probably IS ill. Rayya Elias - Just because it's pancreatic cancer, doesn't mean she'll die this year. I mean, it's likely, but she could survive a year or two. Glen Campbell - probably his year, any time between today and Dec 31st. Stefan Karl Stefansson - probably more 2018? Simon Ricketts - apparently stable: https://simonnricketts.tumblr.com/post/158078619727/a-tunnel-and-a-lit-match - could survive the year, or die this year. They told him he had 6 months-2 years left. I think pretty much a 50:50 choice.

Hah, sorry, but least there is a name to pick. Could be the tearjerker story of the year.

Ardent deathlist cup ghouls (like me) may have known of Julie and Mike Bennet, a couple who both died of cancer, just days apart. The grandfather of that family, Arthur Frost, has now also died of cancer: http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/grandad-brave-children-whose-parents-10030179

The life expectancy of Darts players seems even shorter than that of wrestlers.

I don't think Singh's obit is such a certainty (maybe 60%). Hundal is now at The Independent, which doesn't count anymore. His last work for the Guardian was quite a while ago.

Thanks Thatcher, I saw the news and, again, thought of updating that old list. There are actually quite a few people on it who have died in the meantime. That Daily Mail obit surprised me!

Quick update for our cancer celebrities Jay Clark and Lisa Magill (while Nevin is STILL alive). Downgrade of obitability for some of the less famous folks, most importantly, Ben Suisala. Lynne Stewart is also in there, but as far as I can recall, noone currently on the list had her. Edit: New Years and Drinks All Night picked her. Deceased Hose, too. 1. Golden Slumbers (171,13) 2. David Quantick's Showbiz Pals (168,74) 3. Thomas Jefferson Survives (160,93) 4. To Kill a Gabor Sister (159,85) 5. The Love Boat (157,28) 6. Poochie died on the way back to his home planet (156,87) 7. Still Life (156,77) 8. A Day in the Death (154,57) 9. Dead Ends (152,0275) 10. The Living End (151,79) 11. New Years and Drinks All Night (151,76) 12. droller coaster (151,54) 13. Heading Nowhere (151,22) 14. Deceased Hose (151,03) 15. Pan Breed (147,47) Not much time, but the death of Jay Clark has turned it into a two-man competition. Spade gains by being the most shameless of the lot and picking both Clark and Magill - the only one to do so (except for Shameless, which, by the way, is on the course for the title defense, but currently "only" at 108,36 expected pts). Cpt. Chorizo makes his first entrance. It's all very close around places 9-14. -

Also, kind of interesting update on my pick Kevin Murray (also picked by my B-Team in the DDP): http://www.sundayworld.com/news/crimedesk/regency-hitman-flat-cap-left-to-die-alone-by-dissident-pals His death is imminent, but noone knows how bad it really is, because noone visits him, and if anyone found out where he lives, he'd get killed within 24 hours because he's the scum of the Earth.
