    Earthquakes, Tsunamis, Hurricanes, Mudslides

Yesterday, when the fatality count was still at 37, I thought about making a poll on how high it will eventually be. But it's already higher than I thought it would be (around 200). Now I guess it's going to be around 500 in the end.

    Ideas And Possibilities For 2017

I can think of 2 TV related people and one chap who needs to get a-head in life, all oft-mentioned on here, who will be in several of the top 20 next year providing they are breathing on January 1st. Also, its only August. "Dead certs" tend to show up in October-December time more than earlier. The earlier ones tend to die before new year. I think I know which people you are speaking of. True, I forgot about the "chap", But he's an unusual case and lots of things may still happen. I've heard that one of those two TV people (if I guess correctly) may be a fraud.

    Ideas And Possibilities For 2017

This year, the "canon" of must-haves is relatively small as compared to last year. Of course, everyone has their potential uniques, but the common-knowledge dead-certs are few, a consequence of this year's armageddon. Basically Gord Downie and Piers Sellers. Plus the possible survivors of this year, Errol Christie and Vera Caslavska. Maybe Mark Sims? A couple of them will still die this year. Next year will be interesting.

    Overrated People

Ok, I'll go there... Caster Semenya, the intersexual olympic runner. I mean, there is a reason the sexes are separated in sports.

A young man named Dean Eastmond writes in the Guardian about living with Ewing's sarcoma: https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2016/aug/18/cancer-side-effect-masculinity No word on whether it has spread. Previously, he was in the news for talking about being raped: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-3352295/Teenager-reveals-raped-man.html Hmm...he really puts it all out there...

    Journalists

Didn't even survive the week. I thought so. He was one of the fossils who believe that they can't retire because the world would fall apart without their little-watched shows. Only death could make him stop. Edit: Still, I should thank him for denying that Obama was the first black US president: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yokXXGjZ8KI (The video didn't play, anyway he says that "Warren G. Harding was a negro.")
