Hospitalised because of a sudden outrage: http://indianexpress.com/article/entertainment/music/susan-boyle-hospitalised-after-meltdown-at-heathrow-airport-2772346/ Not close to death, but I was thinking about her recently, and expect her to die in her early 60s.

If I made such a team, my first name would be Frank Mugisha of Uganda.

Obvious choice, but why not... Harris Wofford, the 90-year old US senator who just said he wants to marry his partner, who is 50 years younger than him - it would be his second marriage after his 50-year long marriage with his wife who died in 1995. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-36127215

Hell GC, she's been in the last few years ideas threads , and in a lot of the teams every year. I knew about the lung cancer, but not about the bladder, retina and throat cancer.

Any deadpool starting right NOW? Australian socialite Lady Susan Renouf in palliative care with ovarian cancer and kidney failure, I guess even making it to the start of RadGuy's pool is a bit of a stretch. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3551927/Socialite-Lady-Susan-Renouf-s-daughters-join-bravely-battles-ovarian-cancer-receiving-specialist-care-hospital.html

Listening to the songs now, currently to the entry of San Marino, and ha! Somebody asked himself "Does Leonard Cohen work as a disco number?" Not much good stuff in there, I think I prefer Austria. Russia wants it too much. The dutch song sounds too much like George Hamilton. I have grown to like the german song. Also Latvia, who where my favourites last year, the same songwriter wrote that song, too, and it shows.

Nice one, GC! I should use my intuition more when making picks. But I chose neither him nor Merle Haggard, who I also "knew" was going to die. Similarly, I had a hunch that Muhammad Ali would die this year. I think it's posted on the "Who should be on the 2016 Deathlist thread". At least, he's in one of my teams, but I can't convince myself to put him into the Rotten Deadpool team.

I knew he had a brain tumour in 2015, Death Impends probably knew, too. But I'm not sure how severe it was back then. Nevertheless, I thought he was a lock and almost picked him for the DDP, but decided against it because the obit was too risky.

Heh, my mind is always at work, thinking about stuff. I've also become sort of immune to the news of death. And as I said above in this thread, I expected him to die young. There's a post by me in my history, if anyone is really bored to check, that says that Prince could be the Whitney Houston of 2015, i.e. the unexpected mega star death of the year. Also, nothing will match my shock at Bowie's death, unless it's family.

Next Unexpected "national Treasure" Death

A couple of random observations: In contrast to David Bowie's demise, I don't have the feeling that death took a couple of good albums yet unmade albums from us. Actually, we'll be spared a couple of alubm titles with unspeakable acronyms and random, "cool" letter/number combinations. He was a total anachronism, the second-to-last black megastar who made it without hip-hop influence. He stopped to matter when Gangsta rap came up around 1994/95. Is there any other afircan-american artist who plays "real" instruments and writes his own songs? I can only think of the very last one, Lenny Kravitz, also irrelevant now. That said, he had a couple of killer tunes, but also a lot of average stuff. He was not the dancer and magnetic personality that Michael Jackson was, but he had a lot more musical skill.

Definitely, they were trying to out-star and out-crazy each other... They were two different kinds of crazy though.

They say the flu killed him.... suspicious. He'd had the flu for a couple of days, but couldn't shake it off. So he must have had a weak immune system. AIDS sounds like a good explanation. It was never quite clear, but I guess he pretty much shagged everything/body that moved?
