Fascinating. Maybe he confused the gun trigger with the photo button.

Richard G Scott is now deceased as well. That's three of the Quorum since Sir C's original post. http://www.ksl.com/?sid=35787105&nid=148&title=elder-richard-g-scott-dies-at-86&fm=home_page&s_cid=topstory See Also: http://www.deathlist.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=5605&p=230883 Quorum of Nine The news even makes it into the Guardian: http://www.theguardian.com/world/2015/sep/23/mormon-leader-richard-g-scott-dies-at-86-at-home-in-salt-lake-city Mostly because it's the first time in a century that there are three openings in the Quorum.

And is now DEAD. http://www.commercialappeal.com/news/obituaries/Author-religious-scholar-Phyllis-Tickle-dies-at-age-81-328730261.html Unknown Man gets a hit on Shaun's deadpool, when there's a QO. I forgot who listed her but I recall seeing her name and groaning cuz I had forgotten her. I knew she was a goner. Well done whoever it was. SC Frustrating. My shortlist is getting shorter. And she's probably not the last one of them to die. I had prepared to field a "B-Team", a second main theme with slightly more extraordinary choices. The chances for that one dim. On the other hand, that would make room for a "Game of Thrones" theme team (called Game of Bones). Valar morghulis. Indeed, and there already is a team with that name in the DDP but it's not a GoT theme team!

I only used to know that there existed a person named Yogi Berra, but until this year I had no idea that he was a baseball player, 90 years old, and still alive.

I actually like that idea. Especially now that Phyllis Tickle is dead (though I picked her). But yeah, too many people dying in the months before January. It would mix things up. Though I probably would have chosen a little differently if the current trial run were already a first "real competition". On the other hand, we'd have to wait 10 months for the next installment.

The New York Times article that caused a bit of a scandal by violating the lese majesé laws of Thailand so that it didn't appear in the newspaper there: http://www.nytimes.com/2015/09/21/world/with-king-in-declining-health-future-of-monarchy-in-thailand-is-uncertain.html?_r=0 It's more about the politics than about the health, but it contains the information that his daughter's asking for prayers followed a buddhist ritual usually reserved for the terminally ill.

Good actor. "Dickens of London" is recommended, though no longer on YouTube. I'd mention he was a villain in Murder She Wrote, but that seems to come free with the SAG card. He also had the obligatory role in Game of Thrones (pyromancer Hallyne in season 2) and was originally supposed to play Grand Maester Pycelle, but had to decline because of health issues. Edit: Oh, and apparently he also narrated the Game of Thrones audio books. Obit guaranteed. Second edit: His health issue was cancer, but he says he's totally cured. Source: Youtube video

Political Discussions And Ranting Thread
gcreptile replied to Deathray's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
So, did David Cameron skull fuck a dead pig? Edit: Whoops, didn't see this discussion already going on in the by-election thread. -
If it was "simply" a return of cancer, wouldn't he have a chance of beating it again and then wrestling again? So either they indeed told him it's terminal, like, for example, Martin Crowe's cancer recurrence, but then he didn't tweet that for some reason, or maybe he has some other health issue, maybe hepatitis? Or he had an incestine-related operation that simply makes it impossible to wrestle again, like, for example, getting a colostomy. I could also imagine that his post-cancer stomach is unable to digest "supplementary nutrition", protein shakes, steroids, or whatever. Edit: Ah, and the movie 'The Wrestler', with Mickey Rourke, didn't that guy wrestle until (possible) death? I can't recall his illness, but maybe Travis is in such a situation.

For some reason, a sufficiently respectable german newspaper got a scoop yesterday that Doris Day is willing to play a role in Clint Eastwood's next movie. I can't see anything yet in the english-speaking press: http://www.bild.de/unterhaltung/leute/doris-day/wieder-vor-der-kamera-42643238.bild.html(link in german) She wants to do it only if she doesn't have to travel beyond her hometown Carmel (she's one of Eastwood's neighbours). And her pay shall go to the Doris Day Animal League.

I know time is running out for me getting a unique and unnatural-death hit with Alexis Tsipras, but I applaud him for really doing everything to provoke it. I feared he was gone after announcing the snap elections, but there he's back again...

A curious parallel to the last day that had a truly significant death, which, in my opinion was the 30th of August with Oliver Sacks and Wes Craven: Both Oliver Sacks and Brian Sewell were gay intellectuals probably on many deathpoolers' shortlists - and both Jackie Collins and Wes Craven kept their cancer a secret.
-
He was so self-loathing, maybe that explains how he died "ahead of schedule".

The Unknown Man is missing from the scoreboard, unless he has withdrawn in secrecy.
