That was very quick! Really a statistical outlier. I just put him on my team last week, because one of his colleagues, when asked about Saunders' health reportedly started to cry. At 60, he was also relatively young... Some bodies just don't respond to treatment, I wonder if there is some kind of discernible reason to that. -

The woman who reviewed 31000 books on Amazon, Harriet Klausner, has died at 63: http://motherboard.vice.com/read/woman-who-reviewed-31000-books-on-amazon-dies She says she was a speedreader, reviewing 2 books a day. 31000 books divided by 365 days, that's 41 years, or, since it's two books per day, 20.5 years...

I think it's curious he has to check every couple of months if there is a tumour. Maybe he had one. Or at least, he has some kind of "pre-cancerous condition", like Morrissey's Barrett's syndrome, or something like pancreatitis, only for the throat.

I'm reading this interview with Priscilla at the moment: http://www.theguardian.com/music/2015/oct/22/priscilla-presley-elvis-spirit-speaks-to-me-its-beautiful Apart from laryngitis and speaking with Elvis's spirit, she's fine, but now I have the idea that she might be the replacement for Nancy Reagan in the "famous widow" category, eventually.... Also, this forum missed the death of Elvis's bandleader in the 70s, Joe Guercio in January, even though he had a DDP-qualifying obit: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/obituaries/11330944/Joe-Guercio-obituary.html

Yes, it was. Boothby was a Tory, and a bit of a scoundrel, but I'll always admire his gall for the time he was introduced to Hitler, and when everyone around the table did the Hitler Salute, complete with "Heil Hitler!", Boothby paused a second, then did the salute complete with a loud "Heil Boothby!" Ah thanks!

Some breaking news that he's hospitalised because of cancer. Only headlines so far.

South Korea fights its suicide epidemic with one-day test funerals for pupils: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3284587/Learn-dead-day-Suicidal-people-locked-coffins-bizarre-death-experience-schools-South-Korea-40-people-kill-day.html Hmm, doesn't look that scary to me. Actually somewhat cozy.

Was the Monty Python sketch about the Dinsdale Brothers inspired by the Kray twins? I'm just reading about the rumours of an affar between one of the twins and Tory politician Lord Boothby: http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/covered-up-50-years-how-6686843 which reminds me of the Dinsdale bit with John Cleese as a female impersonator.

Ok, joke aside, they say it was a constant up and down, but now he's stable enough to go home. His initial hip surgery led to complications which required more surgery, including bowel surgery. The final sentences are curious. "The doctors fought for weeks to get him to leave the hospital alive. Considering the circumstances, he's doing ok. But he's not healthy". It sounds a bit as if he wants to die at home. I guess they were surprised that he was in a worse general shape than they (and he himself) expected. They didn't expect that the initial hip surgery could go so bad. Who knows, maybe he doesn't even want to leave home during the next health crisis.

Helmut Kohl is back home: http://www.bild.de/politik/inland/helmut-kohl/kanzler-der-einheit-ist-wieder-zuhause-43113218.bild.html(german link) The photos don't really tell whether he's dead or alive.
