Authors Last A Long Time, But....

Oh! The author of the Very Hungry Caterpillar! Apparently he had some health problem in 2014, because this article describes him as "recovering".

    The Chequered Flag

That reminds me... maybe the Estland thread should become a Finno-Ugric thread, so that Finns and Hungarians can go in there as well.
  7. He disagrees with reducing the deficit at any cost, in the UK at the minute - due to press bias and fabrication - that makes him Stalin's successor. On a much cooler note - if you need any proof that weed makes you lazy - there's an estimated 3 million people who smoke weed in the uk yet only 1 in 30 of them have bothered to sign the petition to legalise it despite it being up nearly a week. Maybe many of these people want weed to be illegal because it's their most comfortable way of undermining the rule of law.

Hopefully, Obama strangles him with his own hands. I need the unnatural death bonus for the HPDP.

    Reality TV

Damn near Ironic Deaths Indeed! Maybe it's a scripted reality TV storyline.
  13. I can't quite understand why Corbyn is regarded as such a radical. He's proposing lots of stuff that are mainstream policies in the USA or in Germany, the two-state solution, will all parties at the table, ending sanctions on Iran which is currently happening, infrastructure banks... There's nothing that makes me think, wow, that's a little out there...

    Back To The Stonia Age

Hmm, it's tough to come up with obitable Estonians in the right age. Applying my limited knowledge on this list: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Estonians I can only come up with one suitable name, and that is Arvo Pärt, the world-famous minimalist composer: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arvo_P%C3%A4rt Maybe also Ants Antson, Winter Olympics gold medal winner at Innsbruck 1964, for his age and the name: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ants_Antson

    World War II Veterans

Hmm, apparently Chester wasn't the last. I have this on Bahe Ketchum, 96. http://www.abc15.com/news/region-northern-az/other/navajo-code-talker-bahe-ketchum-dies-in-flagstaff-at-age-96. Was Bahe the last? I'm not speculating. The mystery intensifies with another Navajo code talker, Kee Etsicitty, dying at 92 on July 21st according to Wikipedia: http://www.kvoa.com/story/29600997/navajo-code-talker-from-new-mexico-dies

Authors Last A Long Time, But....

I remember reading the book at the timevaged @ 13, assumed she'd died in the 80's. Indeed, it's a bit of a miracle she is still alive. She has responded to the story now, here: http://www.tagesspiegel.de/berlin/polizei-justiz/nach-rangelei-in-berlin-neukoelln-christiane-f-das-war-ein-raubueberfall-auf-mich/12089228.html(link in german) The article mentions that she "officially" retreated from the public at the beginning of 2014 because of her health. She also says that she cannot have bit that witness because of her poor health (Either the drugs made her lose her teeth or she is too frail, I don't know). She has had several relapses and also lost custody of her son a couple of years back. For deathpooling reasons, here is an english article with the headline "I will die soon, I know that" from 2013: http://www.vice.com/read/christiane-felscherinow-interview

    Don Rickles

I was a bit surprised he was still alive when I went through my "SAD LAST DAYS" search. And to be honest, I only remember him from either The Daily Show or the Colbert Report when either Jon Stewart or Stephen Colbert ironically yelled at a picture of Rickles for winning the Emmy that year in the category they were both nominated in. Doing a web search... found the video: http://videosift.com/video/The-Colbert-Report-923-Stephen-Loses-to-Don-Rickles Oh wow, it was in 2008 already...

    Fat And Fearless

Sorry, but how does this qualify for here? The man is not famous in any way whatsoever other than as yet another clickbait shitstirring piece of shyte from the Daily Mail. Unless I missed something. It's true, I don't know whether he is fearless, but he is definitely fat. And this thread is (or has become?) more about gloating at their weight, than about fame.... see Carl Thompson. It's the "famous for their illness" kind of fame. Edit: But yes, maybe I reduce the posting of these kinds of stories.
