Greece's most prominent composer (also film composer for Zorba The Greek and Serpico) Mikis Theodorakis turns 90 today: http://www.dw.com/en/greeces-musical-hero-mikis-theodorakis-turns-90/a-18610091 Apparently, he's "currently" suffering from the effects of a tear gas attack back in 2012, which sounds as if he's not going to recover in this life anymore.

The top thread on Reddit is about that Lion shooter as well: http://www.reddit.com/r/videos/comments/3ezwjp/jimmy_kimmel_had_a_perfect_and_touching_response/ Yeah, it sort of makes me want to shoot that dentist as well. (Am I allowed to say that? I guess I'll find out...)

Here's a story on Dick Dale, talking about his myriad health issues. http://www.pghcitypaper.com/pittsburgh/at-78-and-with-a-myriad-of-health-issues-surf-rock-legend-dick-dale-plays-through-the-pain/Content?oid=1843341 Wow, it sounds like he could drop dead any minute, but he needs to continue playing for the money, so he'll probably die on stage. But at least, he has a motivation to live on, that's always good for your life expectancy.

Initially, they thought it was inoperable and he was about to die, now I still think it's inoperable and he's going to die, but first they will milk a small fortune from him for an experimental procedure of dubious value. He will be a great candidate in 2016 if he makes the startline. And another one gone: http://www.sport24.co.za/Cricket/Clive-Rice-dies-20150728 GossibGabe was probably right about the "dubious value". And I followed the case for a while. He said it was a "miracle surgery", but in hindsight, it seemed he was just selling himself out to promote some new medical device...

And the Daily Mail has found the most eye-catching angle: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-3176809/Ted-Bundy-s-famed-worker-turned-biographer-Ann-Rule-dies-aged-83.html Well, I didn't even include her in my Rotten Deadpool team even though I had the chance. I need to give lung problems a higher priority.

The fact that his wife was willing to go away suggests that he demise is not iminent. Also a good point. Personally, my estimation of the time of his death has moved from December/early 2016 to October 2015.

Oh! The author of the Very Hungry Caterpillar! Apparently he had some health problem in 2014, because this article describes him as "recovering".

That reminds me... maybe the Estland thread should become a Finno-Ugric thread, so that Finns and Hungarians can go in there as well.

He disagrees with reducing the deficit at any cost, in the UK at the minute - due to press bias and fabrication - that makes him Stalin's successor. On a much cooler note - if you need any proof that weed makes you lazy - there's an estimated 3 million people who smoke weed in the uk yet only 1 in 30 of them have bothered to sign the petition to legalise it despite it being up nearly a week. Maybe many of these people want weed to be illegal because it's their most comfortable way of undermining the rule of law. -
I think that news decides a whole lot of things...

Hopefully, Obama strangles him with his own hands. I need the unnatural death bonus for the HPDP.

I can't quite understand why Corbyn is regarded as such a radical. He's proposing lots of stuff that are mainstream policies in the USA or in Germany, the two-state solution, will all parties at the table, ending sanctions on Iran which is currently happening, infrastructure banks... There's nothing that makes me think, wow, that's a little out there...
