Hmm, it's tough to come up with obitable Estonians in the right age. Applying my limited knowledge on this list: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Estonians I can only come up with one suitable name, and that is Arvo Pärt, the world-famous minimalist composer: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arvo_P%C3%A4rt Maybe also Ants Antson, Winter Olympics gold medal winner at Innsbruck 1964, for his age and the name: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ants_Antson

Hmm, apparently Chester wasn't the last. I have this on Bahe Ketchum, 96. http://www.abc15.com/news/region-northern-az/other/navajo-code-talker-bahe-ketchum-dies-in-flagstaff-at-age-96. Was Bahe the last? I'm not speculating. The mystery intensifies with another Navajo code talker, Kee Etsicitty, dying at 92 on July 21st according to Wikipedia: http://www.kvoa.com/story/29600997/navajo-code-talker-from-new-mexico-dies

I remember reading the book at the timevaged @ 13, assumed she'd died in the 80's. Indeed, it's a bit of a miracle she is still alive. She has responded to the story now, here: http://www.tagesspiegel.de/berlin/polizei-justiz/nach-rangelei-in-berlin-neukoelln-christiane-f-das-war-ein-raubueberfall-auf-mich/12089228.html(link in german) The article mentions that she "officially" retreated from the public at the beginning of 2014 because of her health. She also says that she cannot have bit that witness because of her poor health (Either the drugs made her lose her teeth or she is too frail, I don't know). She has had several relapses and also lost custody of her son a couple of years back. For deathpooling reasons, here is an english article with the headline "I will die soon, I know that" from 2013: http://www.vice.com/read/christiane-felscherinow-interview

I was a bit surprised he was still alive when I went through my "SAD LAST DAYS" search. And to be honest, I only remember him from either The Daily Show or the Colbert Report when either Jon Stewart or Stephen Colbert ironically yelled at a picture of Rickles for winning the Emmy that year in the category they were both nominated in. Doing a web search... found the video: http://videosift.com/video/The-Colbert-Report-923-Stephen-Loses-to-Don-Rickles Oh wow, it was in 2008 already...

Sorry, but how does this qualify for here? The man is not famous in any way whatsoever other than as yet another clickbait shitstirring piece of shyte from the Daily Mail. Unless I missed something. It's true, I don't know whether he is fearless, but he is definitely fat. And this thread is (or has become?) more about gloating at their weight, than about fame.... see Carl Thompson. It's the "famous for their illness" kind of fame. Edit: But yes, maybe I reduce the posting of these kinds of stories.

Jeanette Cathy, widow of Chick-Fil-A founder S. Truett Cathy, is dead at 92: http://www.wtvm.com/story/29613285/widow-of-chick-fil-a-founder-passes-away Edit: I now see that WIkipedia has also listed her as a philantropist, as founder of the WinShape foundation, so she has a bit of fame on her own.

The health of Cissy Houston is too poor to allow her to travel: http://www.mirror.co.uk/3am/celebrity-news/whitney-houstons-mother-cissy-poorly-6118206 That article is refering to an already 4 days old other article in the US Weekly. Maybe Bobbi Kristina is actually dead already but for once, we don't get to know it before the funeral.

As I said, the greatest threat to me living long is my consumption of sugary drinks and the likelihood of getting diabetes. So this article got my attention: http://www.theguardian.com/society/2015/jul/21/sugary-drinks-may-cause-type-2-diabetes-regardless-of-size-research-says But then, there's a somewhat puzzling passage: "The Cambridge team, who have published their research in the British Medical Journal, say they cannot prove that too many sweetened drinks causes type 2 diabetes from the evidence they were able to gather. But, if one assumes causality,(...)" So yeah, we don't know if they cause diabetes, but let's assume they do and predict doom...

Christiane F. in the german news today for beating her dog, and then biting the hand of (and racially insulting) a witness: http://www.bild.de/regional/berlin/angriff/christiane-f-schlaegt-hund-und-beisst-zeugin-41875952.bild.html(link in german) I never knew how close to me she apparently lives. Just a couple of streets... Maybe I already saw her once unknowingly...

Funny. Just last week he was in Berlin and made headlines in the local papers here for standing almost completely naked on the balcony. I thought he was looking quite well there. But maybe he caught a cold this way.

Muhsin al-Fadhli, major al-Qaida figure, killed in an air strike in Syria: http://www.theguardian.com/world/2015/jul/22/senior-al-qaida-figure-muhsin-al-fadhli-killed-in-us-airstrike-in-syria-officials-say He was the leader of the "Khorasan" group, veteran al-Qaida fighters sent from Pakistan to Syria to plot attacks on the west. He also had advance knowledge of 9/11. -
So a gimme for any Rotten Dead Pool teams that start up in the next couple months, but too many factors against him for a likely appearance on any pools with a January starting date. You're probably right. Sounds more like 2-3 months left instead of the 5 months that the year has left. But then he receives congressional health care and your own team expires in the first half of December already. But if he makes it that far, and the year is already more than half over (feels somewhat scary to me this time...), he's a definite hit for all pools except the DDP, where the question of obitability arises.

Co-Founder and lawyer of the Red Army Faction, the german left-wing terrorist group of the 60s, 70s and 80s, Horst Mahler, is now in hospital because of a sepsis: http://www.pnn.de/brandenburg-berlin/989415/ (german link) The police does not expect him to leave the hospital alive and prepares for his death. They expect a lot of neo-nazis for his wake, because Mahler turned from left-wing radical to holocaust denying right-wing radical in the late 70s. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horst_Mahler (english wikipedia page)

Perfect. An hour ago I found their article on how the death of his mother has pushed Michael Douglas "into a tailspin": www.nationalenquirer.com/celebrity/michael-douglas-freaks-out-cancer-death-mom (I have to experiment with the way their pages are blocked for me.) This comes, of course, three months after the article on Michael Douglas's "tragic last days": www.nationalenquirer.com/celebrity/michael-douglas-tragic-last-days Edit: I have to experiment with the format for a while. This post is a work in progress.
