Though I'd put Mugabe as the worst pick, upon some research here I think you could be right, Captain. The guy had lung cancer--TWENTY ONE YEARS AGO! http://www.people.com/people/archive/article/0,,20103665,00.htmlSo that's moot UNLESS a committee member knows first-hand he's smoking again. He's an on-again off-again drunk. Who amongst is isn't? So fucking what?! Last we know he slid off he wagon and skid hard in 2013, age 77. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-404259/Dallas-star-Kercheval-arrested-drink-driving.html / http://www.celebdirtylaundry.com/2013/dallas-star-ken-kercheval-kicked-off-british-morning-show-after-arriving-completely-wasted-0112/ Again, if a committee member knows first-hand that Ken is a constant lush and does wreckless things in such condition (like hang in smoky pubs), then it means not a damned thing. But really I just wanted to post the 9th item for Ken Kercheval. SirC the worst pick has got to be jake the snake Indeed. About Ken Kercheval, yes, it's an outside bet at most. Is there a certain "camp" factor to Cliff Barnes? The committee likes to pick colourful characters, I wonder what's the special angle with him.

Well, I have Tsipras in my team as a possible unique hit, for exactly that reason. Either someone from the outside might do "an Allende" or maybe an angry Greek does it. I successfully guessed that Syriza would win the elections so the first step has already been made. But I'm a little annoyed that Varoufakis has drawn a lot of the attention away from Tsipras onto himself. Now that Syriza is more than a one-man show, you cannot collapse the movement by simply killing one of them. Edit: I should add that I wouldn't pick him again. When I picked him, I was a victim of the "plausability fallacy", i.e. I thought it was more likely to happen than it actually is, simply because I could make up a fitting story. (I have this theory from Daniel Kahneman's "Thinking, Fast and Slow".) But actually, political assassinations are very, very unlikely. Edit: Looks like step two is happening right now, the Grexit.

Well, what is here? The digital space here or the real space here which is a different here for all of us? In the latter case, we might all be here and not here.

Yes, Gabor would be worthy. Though I'd like to see Mugabe. Or maybe Castro.

He died at the shock of seeing himself dead?

Oh, wow, RIP... That's a striking month for the Death List. Can't say I knew much about him, but I remember the hat from my childhood.

I am surpised that he was no rapper, apparently.

Well, I am somewhat glad the story is coming to an end, so I don't have to think about choosing her next year. Also, the person "Bobbi" already died a couple of months ago, it's the freakshow that is ending. Tomorrow, 9pm local time.

He's famous for his association with sports? Aah.... sorry I missed the basketball thread, though at least, he wasn't a player either. Edit: Indeed sorry, I had always regarded this thread as a general sports thread. Because "time added" sounded like somethnig from ice hockey to me. Now I guess it's specifically about football, i.e. soccer.

Summat wrong with that reasoning, mind. Since when was a diva in her league empathic with anyone, even their own sister? Also when has she ever needed a reason. Now Lorna Luft's UK tour is being interrupted for treatment: http://www.whatsonstage.com/brighton-theatre/news/lorna-luft-cancer-surgery-judy-garland-songbook_38121.html

Second Dan Villanueva posted in five days!!!http://www.deathlist.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=5907&p=229644SC Oh goddamit CMON people!!! This has NEVER happened in DL history I'm certain of it! Celebrate!! We had two people with the same name!! Inside a week :-) SirC It's the same guy, I believe. Yes, that's true. And interesting. I probably didn't find the first Daniel Villanueva because the first post had him as a Danny. But yes, the guy who was a somewhat successful football player then became a media mogul of sorts. Whereas my NYT obit focuses on his role as the latter, the football obits focus on the former. It's like that person had two lives.

RIP... though I can say nothing about him, apparently a good call by the committee. None of the top teams in the DDP picked him, interesting. Guardian link: http://www.theguardian.com/education/2015/jun/23/chris-woodhead-former-ofsted-chief-dies-aged-68

From sinking ships to crashing planes.... And is indeed dead. What is it about small planes - lethal. http://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2015/jun/23/pilot-killed-as-plane-registered-to-titanic-composer-james-horner-crashes Very sad. Stellar body of work, including the soundtrack of what I traditionally call my favorite movie - Aliens.
