The often overlooked fifth Beatle discoverer of the DNA, Prof. Raymond Gosling, is dead at 88: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/obituaries/11621568/Edward-Adeane-courtier-obituary.html It was him who took the crucial X-ray photograph that "unlocked the secrets of the DNA", though they were sometimes credited to Rosalind Franklin at a later point. -
I think my personal favorite is Latvia this year. I usually do bad at predicting the winner, though I got it right last time (wasn't that hard I thought). I think Sweden is a little overhyped. So, maybe Estonia? Germany and the UK will indeed finish around 20th place, next to each other.

Edward Adeane, courtier and private secretary of Prince Charles, has died at 75: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/obituaries/11621568/Edward-Adeane-courtier-obituary.html Adeane is sort of an aristocrat himself, since his family appears to be a courtier dynasty. His father was already private secretary to the Queen.

Her husband is apparantly doing a bit better; http://abcnews.go.com/Entertainment/celine-dion-husband-rene-champ-battling-throat-cancer/story?id=31216247 Pretty mean (and funny) first comment there.

Shit. He's my music idol, from my favorite band. Is no death sentence, but still. Stay well Chris.SirC [Edit: correct response -- NO!] He's also the only ever-present member of the band and a major part of their stage presence to this day. He plays bass with more of a show than Steve Howe plays lead. Aye, wouldn't take any pleasure in culling points from him. read this death list community he us a slam dunk for 2016 It depends. There are several types of his type of cancer. I couldn't yet find out which type he has. There is a rare type with a very poor prognosis, but other types would have him likely survive beyond 2016.

Seeing that all but about 3 people picked an April date, this is beginning to look better. I reiterate he is one I'd not have on my team at all with a do over. SC 95% certain to be gone by September is one to always pick.... Though I do think he's next years shoe in. I also think he only becomes a good candidate in the latter half of this year. I think it will be pretty close for 2015.

She only sold 300,000 poppies in 76 years? If she had a 5-day-week and worked about 200 days each year, then that's 15200 days of work in 76 years, or about 20 poppies each day. Hmm... is it custom to buy just one of them or several at once? If the latter is the case, then that rate is indeed a bit poor...

He can't be close to death at the moment, because he's starring in a new movie about 9/11: http://www.theguardian.com/film/2015/may/19/christopher-lee-and-uma-thurman-attached-to-911-drama-set-in-denmark Though the article notes that he was considered too elderly to fly to the set of the Hobbit movies, so he performed in front of a green screen.

Apart from Mark Reeds, and cancer stricken coach Bryan Murray, another Ottawa Senators official, the team owner Eugene Melnyk was in urgent need of a liver transplant but has received it yesterday: http://senators.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=768219 There must be something in the Ottawa water... However, Bryan Murray himself is apparently stable enough to continue coaching for another season: http://www.cbssports.com/nhl/eye-on-hockey/25167415/senators-gm-bryan-murray-intends-to-return-next-season I might have been a bit premature in guessing that the DDP team hit record might get broken...

In the context of skin cancer, the wig actually makes sense (but only there). As for that comment, I need a translator.
