The founder of jazz label ESP-Disk, Bernard Stollman has died at 85 of colon cancer. http://pitchfork.com/news/59352-esp-disk-founder-bernard-stollman-has-died/ The label released a couple of classic jazz records in the 60s and 70s, for example, by Albert Ayler, Ornette Coleman and Sun Ra (though I personally love the Pharoah Sanders records the most). And while I'm at it, Brian Couzens, the founder of classical music label Chandos has died at 82, but I have nothing to say about this: http://slippedisc.com/2015/04/sad-news-classical-label-founder-has-died/

The carnival continues: Bobby's aunt Tina Brown said that she's off life support: http://www.tmz.com/2015/04/20/bobbi-kristina-off-life-support-coma-tina-brown/ But the Houston family denies this and they have no idea why Tina Brown said it: http://www.tmz.com/2015/04/20/bobbi-kristina-still-on-life-support-houston-bobby-brown-update/ Her grandmother Cissy Houston says that there is irreversible brain damage: http://www.tmz.com/2015/04/20/cissy-houston-bobbi-kristina-brain-damage-irreversible-unresponsive-miracle-life-support/ Maybe the lesson here is not to read TMZ.

There might be more going on, he has leukemia:http://loudwire.com/behemoth-nergal-leukemia-diagnosis-burst-into-tears/ Initially, I decided against including him in my potential candidate list, because he appeared to be in a relatively uplifting mood during a couple of recent interviews, but maybe that wasn't the whole truth. With all due respect to Polish metal in general and Behemoth specifically, he would seem to have an angel's chance in hell of getting an obit. But you'd know better than I. SC My list is not just for the DDP, but for other pools on this site as well and somewhere, he'll definitely obit.

20th of April, 4:45 in the morning. Well, it looks like it's not going to share a birthday with Hitler.

Not sure what Empire Games are but a 51-year old won a marathon?SC LOL good catch. It's a typo. There were no Commonwealth Games in '84, this race was 30 years earlier in '54. Yes thanks, corrected. I guess my mind carried over the 8 from the age to the year. And now I had to check, the article is technically wrong twice by first calling these games the "1954 Commonwealth Games" and then the "then known as the Empire Games" because in 1954, the name of the event was the "British Empire and Commonwealth Games". There was a transition in name that matched the dissolution of the Empire: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Commonwealth_Games

Another article about how unlikely and miraculous her recovery has been: http://www.vancouversun.com/health/Valerie+Harper+kicking+fear+cancer+curb/10981933/story.html Her doctor does not use the word 'remission' though, only "unexpected improvement".

Loool, and you complain about me posting the death of a SF Bay Area singer/songrwriter? Besides, can any battle against lung cancer really be gallant? Fuck yes I do; you may be thumping your chest at poor little Nigeria, but here in death we are all equal, no borders. This guy was equal to our (USA) Secretary of Education. So yes he deserves a mention. As for your local hack that never played with a single band/musician of note, meaning HE was the musician of note, fuck yes I'll fucking complain.SC No, he was not the Nigerian secretary of education. He would have been equal to the chairman of the Senate Committee on Education who I could not name by heart (but I checked, it's Lamar Alexander from Tennessee).
