There's a short video from a celebration that seemingly took place yesterday. There are additional photos here.

Rumor has it that, right before dying, he asked his wife for the van one last time.

She's so attached to the Senate that I think she'll go after her term ends (unless she's not allowed to finish it).

Well, in this interview, he did say: "It will come to a head before this year is out."

The famous French writer Philippe Sollers is dead. He was 86.

I could see the title being "Le Pen de mort for Jean-Marie." It's a play on words ("la peine de mort" refers to capital punishment/death penalty in French and "peine" is pronounced just like "Pen").

I guess there's some hope, but things are looking dire...

Doing well according to his daughter, who has not paid him a visit yet. One would at least expect her to if he truly were dying, even though they haven't been on very good terms for quite some time.

I would still give that distinction to someone like the Queen Mother, but some might disagree.

It's unlikely based on how superficial his injuries seem to be, but he may be bleeding internally. Most probably, he will be fine but might have to give up on driving by himself, which could affect his spirits.

And did Carter agree to deliver Biden's eulogy?

Thank you! I wasn't sure at the time of that post. I edited his name out of it. Edit: French actor Jacques Sereys dead at 94. Here's an article in English.

Former Celtic striker Frank McGarvey dead at 66 (on January 1st).

Someone seems to be updating his Instagram account quite regularly. He sounds well in this video, which was posted about a week ago. However, we can only really see his face in it. He also seems to be using a wheelchair from time to time, at least according to this picture. It's hard to tell how often he uses it based on the selection of photos posted on Instagram. Edit: Actually, that may not even be a wheelchair. Whoops... My bad! My gut feeling is that Wagner will probably get to 2024, but the year just began, he's pushing 93, and he could have some serious health issues that we're not aware of. So, overall, this is a decent pick.

Rest in peace. I wonder how long he would have lived had he not retired, especially given that his retirement lasted longer than his reign as pope.

Oh, for Falk's sake! I am afraid you may also be showing early signs of Alzheimer's.

Rest in peace, Barbara Walters. You were a legendary news anchor and journalist. Funnily enough, this is always the first interview I associate with her name. It's a short segment, but it's pretty iconic.

I cannot imagine this doing his aged mother any favors, either. Do we think they'll go in quick succession?

Seen handing out cash at Malibu Labor Center. Still looking strong and mobile, besides some visible eye redness.

Unfortunately, Stanisław Kowalski passed away at 111.
