Site updated to reflect the death of Philip Jones Griffiths. Congrats to Football Fan and Octopus of Odstock!

Levi Stubbs. Going down the list, he was the only one who really stood out for me other than Kirk Douglas, and Douglas isn't on any of my teams. Although if I had to pick from the basis of health, Bill Graham has been quiet for a while now...

Dead Amy Winehouse

The skin infection seems pretty mild - believe me, it gets far worse than that. The cuts don't seem that serious either but, then again, I don't know much about cutting. Basically a bad day caught on camera methinks. I actually have a (very) slight bit of respect for her having the courage to go out like that, knowing that she'd be photographed. My hatred of tabloid journalism trumps my disliking of her. -
Site updated to reflect the death of Bill Brown (here's the key obit in case you were wondering). Congrats to The Carking Lot, who is but one point away from tying the lead!
-
And less than a week later, he remains dead. Now will he get an obit suitable for the DDP? If so a certain someone by the name of "The Living End" becomes the new scoreboard leader... Will clean up the old names on the main list right away, hopefully add the new ones soon.

I'm quite surprised, especially after reading recently that two of my Theme Team picks (Elmer Lach and Milt Schmidt) were doing as well as some of the others who were a couple of years younger. Hadn't even known that Reardon had Alzheimer's. Anyhow, site updated to reflect his death. Also, per the guest question, the site is now located at www.canadianpaul.com after some server issues.

Who's Going To Be Around For A While?
Canadian Paul replied to Banshees Scream's topic in DeathList Forum
Ed McMahon it would seem. You've got to be pretty tough to be 85, break your neck, then continue attending public events a year later. Also, just-turned-104-year-old Ziegfield girl Doris Eaton Travis is still dancing. -
That's a very Ameri-centric & myopic view. Even from an American view, there's been the co-creators of both Married... with Children and Dungeons and Dragons, an Academy-award winning composer and the centenarian father of quality management.

Kevorkian considering a run for congress, not bad for someone who was gravely ill while in prison.
-
German actor and concentration inmate Erwin Geschonneck has died at the age of 101. Interesting little story, albeit short.
-
Lazare Ponticelli has gotten a BBC obit, not surprisingly. Well done Time is NOT on our side on a unique hit!

Cold pizza? Or, more likely, "warm" pizza that has been sitting under heat lamps for ages.

It is, however, misleading, given the title of this thread. Humphrey Lyttelton is NOT dead, or even unwell. Posted something jazz-related in the only jazz thread here, complete with obvious caveat. String me up why dontcha, Mr DL Policeman. It's a wonder why anyone ever joins this site. Don't mind him. He just rants at anyone and everyone about "not contributing" or "off-topic" posts because he has nothing to contribute of his own and rarely posts on topic himself. Don't believe me? A quick check of his post history, despite how many times I point this out, reveals a continual pattern of off-topic, irrelevant posts, often of him calling everyone else out for the behavior in which he participates almost exclusively on this site. The best thing to do is click "My controls" then, on the left hand bar, click "Manage ignored users". When the little screen comes up, type in "Star Crossed" in the text box and... voila! You join the ranks of everyone else on this site who no longer has to engage with the rambling delusions of this pathetic attention whore. You may also find this trick similarly useful if you type in "Banshees Scream" in the text box. Unless of course you're looking for discussions on why everyone who's not a white Christian deserves to be shot, the philosophical musings of a man with the intellect of a roast ham or a how-to guide on how to rape every woman you meet both physically AND mentally. Typing "Canadian Paul" will get rid of a lot of long, boring, pointless and generally unentertaining rants but, in my defense you'll also be blocking out the most important bits of the "Ideas and Possibilities - The Names" thread. So if you're not into the deadpooling thing, you'd probably be better off putting me on their too. Oh, and welcome.

Australia's last surviving WWI veteran turns 109. Also the first time that he's been acknowledged as Australia's oldest man, as far as I know.

Update done for them + Pym. Congrats to all involved!
-
Ariel Sharon for the surprise hit!
-
Congrats to DL for keeping up the at-least-one-hit-per-month trend and especially to OoO who is not only off the mark on the DDP, but also gets a CPDP hit when I update (hopefully tomorrow)!

Birthdays, Births, Anniversaries ,etc ...for 2008
Canadian Paul replied to football_fan's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
Happy Birthday Pooka and Real Madron! from Spring Break! Hopefully you're having more fun than me, something like this: I forget who's who in this picture. -
I love how I posted that, then you posted after me, then one post later you posted it again (different source, same story)

Looks like the diagnosis is true, but the prognosis isn't. Still, I wouldn't rule anything out with pancreatic cancer.

Arguably prominent physicist Frederick Seitz, whom I had toyed with putting on my DDP (albeit briefly), has died. The part that I like the most about him is that he actually had the guts to question whether global warming was caused by human activity. That and I'm sure there's some juvenile joke to be made about his magnum opus The Modern Theory of Solids. Not entirely sad that I left him off though, since he doesn't seem to be garnering much media attention.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY OoO I lack the time to do another splendiferous birthday collage, but I'll make sure I make you one on Spring Break. Until then, here's Rachel Aziani: -
Dead Amy Winehouse
Canadian Paul replied to harrymcnallysblueandwhitearmy's topic in DeathList Forum
I had that a few years back. Looks ugly as sin. I might make the suggestion that between this and her rehab, it might be enough to push a suicide attempt, but I think that her past behavior has shown she doesn't care much for how she looks anymore. -
How weird is that. Rosenman who composed the theme music to Ralph Bakshi's version of Lord of The Rings dies on the same day that Gygax who created a role playing game influence by Tolkien's middle earth creatures. Wow, today really sucks. Gygax's Dungeons and Dragons and Rosenman's soundtrack have both influenced my writing very heavily.

Update will come shortly for Healey and Bhanbhagta Gurung, as the link is a suitable obituary for a Theme Team. Pre-update congrats to Godot's Waiting List and 2 Farts and a Splash.
