Researcher Robert Young has apparentely found another veteran, a German, who is living in the United States, which brings the total number of verified veterans back up to twenty-nine. A nice change of pace given all the ones that have dropped off lately.

Doohan/Cooper's remains missing in the mountains.

It's a 74th birthday bash for Farrakhan today. No recent news, but I believe he's fully healed now.
-
I'll go for May 22 or earlier, if only to get a fifth hit on my RDP.

DDT already mentioned that Ewok actor Ron Phillips died at age 95 recently, but here's an obit with a picture or two.

Happy belated to FF and TLC! If I were at home, I'd send you birthday sexiness, but if it makes you feel better, I partied pretty damn hard all yesterday, so consider it a tribute! -
I had Poston on HDP, not DDP, but does this count as a UK obit for DDP purposes? And apologies for my ignorance, but I'm guessing that this for Rita Widdecombe is considered local/regional?
-
Hughes has obit enough for a theme team, but I haven't seen her pop up on the BBC, CNN or a Canadian news site yet, so before MPFC can get his points, we'll have to wait for one of those. It was the best of luck, it was the worst of luck.

Biggs will be in jail until 2010, but his lawyer says he'll be dead in a few months. Believe what you will. I like mixing hope and skepticism personally.

Here's a recent picture, apologies if this has already been posted. I see some blessed mod has cleaned up all the shite in this thread. TH perhaps?

Well Godot may be gone, but Belgians live on. What about Soeur Emmanuelle, the Belgian nun? If Abbe Pierre got a notice in the the UK, surely she would as well? No health news though.

Not really a claim to fame, but I got to see this from the window of my house. Like the ghoul I am, I caught a good picture of it flaring up too. -
Jack Valenti, mentioned in the I&P Thread, has died at age 85, after suffering a stroke a month ago.

Valenti has gone the way of Spelling, Pinochet and Papon.

Happy birthday Olveres! In honour of your birthday, I searched google image search to find out what an Olveres is: Birthday sexiness abounds! At least you're not a naked fat guy with a hamburger! -
Roger Ebert to make first public appearance after 10 months of illness.

Warren Avis, founder of Avis Rent-A-Car, dead at 92.

He was still fiesty earlier in the day though. Someone I know thought that Cheney would live to see 80 easily. I argued I'd be impressed if Cheney makes it to 70 at this rate.

Yes, but as the other two Beatles are alive, surely they still count as survivors of the "Any One"? I mean, they're not dead, after all, so they must be survivors of some sort? Depends how you look at it. The way I see it, you would remove a name off the list when that suggestion would have been "hit" so to speak. If Harrison had died in '87, then would "Any one Beatle" count as a "Survivor" of the list? I get your point about them being literally, Survivors. "Any one Beatle" is a survivor (Starr, Mac etc.) but "any one of the remaining Beatles," as one could point to Harrison as a remaining Beatle who is no longer a survivor. So the group "the remaining Beatles" is not a survivor. Not that all that literary garbage matters much. It's difficult to place that selection anywhere within the tradition.

Take your deadpooling skills all the way to the bank (or at least the bookie). -
Two of the world's oldest set a new record for greatest combined age of people meeting. I suspect that this will soon be followed by "World's Oldest Myspace/Facebook" friends or something.

I said the mountaineers thread that dying from a fall was a bad way to go, but I think being sat on by a camel is probably worse.
-
CP, I'm confused by this. Obviously Macca will outlive them all & be the sole remaining Beatle, as he's sold his soul to Beelzebub, but Ringo's still alive, isn't he? And would Pete Best, the original drummer be counted? Or have I completely misunderstood your post? Um, I think you have misunderstood. If you selected 'any one Beatle', then you'd get a hit if one of them died. One did die (several years later), so that can be counted as a success under the cumulative list thingy that OoO was trying to achieve. What he said.

Renowned Mountaineers, Feeling Peaky?
Canadian Paul replied to Tempus Fugit's topic in DeathList Forum
Bruce Bennett, Kurt Vonnegut, now Sir Edmund Hillary. What a terrible way for an otherwise healthy person to go. Even with that WWI Veteran, Robert Meier, same thing. Still, I suppose there'd be a bit of irony to be the first man to climb the world's tallest mountain and then die because you couldn't climb your front step... -
Since the entry for The Beatles was technically "Any one Beatle" Shouldn't that be removed from the list, since Harrison died in 2001?
