Murcer clear of brain tumour.

As usual, you read my mind. No recent news and IMDB says his last work was in 1994, though I know that he also did the Boba Fett voice for the special edition in 1997. And apparently, he's still signing autographs.

This is very helpful, as it lists who's alive and who's dead without even having to click on the person - Star Wars Actors Database Everyone from Obi-Wan to the voice of a random Stormtrooper, it would seem.

I think I'll join you... I'll be in Austin starting on the 26th and leaving on the 29th. Not sure if I'll have internet or not, so I suppose it's relevant to the thread. I'll also not be on anymore this week, until finals are over, but that's not saying much. Every time I've traveled lately, a DL candidate has died, so hopefully we've got one more coming by the end of March.

Michael Winner defeats rare and fatal disease. Looks like the old boy's pulled through.

And today would have been his wine-making brother Julio's 97th birthday! Never knew he died in a car crash.

Letterman sidekick Calvert DeForest aka. Larry "Bud" Melman dead. I'd known he'd retired from illness, wasn't aware how serious it was.

dead Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Al-Salim Al-Sabah
Canadian Paul replied to football_fan's topic in DeathList Forum
Gotta love a news story where 90%+ of the words are the names of the people involved. Searching "Father Amir" gets me more Google news results than what I've been getting from his full name, but nothing health-related unfortunately. -
Guardian obit for Freddie Francis. Congrats to Grobler's Stiff Ones for their unique pick! Also, Sven Olaf Hoiby has died and this is the closest to a UK obit thusfar - but I don't think it counts.
-
Sven O. Hoiby er dod. Father of the Crown Princess of Norway and unique selection on the DDP, assuming a British obit surfaces.

She's likely lower than that; it hasn't been updated to include claims from 1897 yet, since the verification process take a few months. My guess is by the time she actually gets verified, she'll be mid-to-high eighties, as several people above her will have died. Aime Avignon, for example, is a case that is very likely to be validated.

No UK obit yet, but surely there will be, British Cinematographer Freddie Francis has died at age 89, following the lingering effects of a stroke. A unique pick for Grobler's Stiff Ones on the DDP.

So one of the first Wikipedia articles I ever saw was Ruby Muhammad's, and that was back in 2004 when she was 107 and I thought to myself, wouldn't it be neat if she made it to 110? Well, the wait is over. Happy 110th birthday!

Happy 90th birthday to Dame Vera Lynn!

Birthdays, Births, Anniversaries ,etc ...for 2007

Happy birthday GR! -
Isn't that a little bit the other side of the cheating line by you yourself making a wiki page of someone you intend to put in a team? Not according to the WDP rules! But seriously, I was under the impression that as long as the person was notable enough for it to last, it was acceptable. Ross Davidson didn't have a wiki page until after entries were being accepted last year.

Henry Allingham talks to children and becomes a podcast. Seems to be doing well for himself. Also on topic, after 15 deaths in January and February, only one known WWI Vet has died in March thusfar (or at least, as far as is known), and he was previously unknown (at least to Wikipedia) and his service record is questionable at that. That makes a total of 16 deaths - half of W90's prediction - and we're not even a quarter through the year.

Summer Olympic Deaths/Dead Medallists
Canadian Paul replied to Stayin Alive's topic in DeathList Forum
So for a long time, I had been trying to figure out who the oldest living Olympic medalist was. The trail went dead with Feroze Khan in April 2005, but just yesterday I finally came across an article from late February 2007 that described Roger Beaufrand as being that titleholder. So being the intrepid young lad that I am, I went out, made a Wikipedia page for him, and gave him a quick spot on my upcoming WDP. Then it turns out he died three days before. Back to square one. -
Nick Du Toit / Simon Mann / Mark Thatcher
Canadian Paul replied to DevonDeathTrip's topic in DeathList Forum
One of the alleged plotters has died in jail. Unfortunately, for DDT, it's not du Toit. -
Chosen by several on the DDP, Sir Arthur Marshall has died at the tender age of 103.

Wikipedia and George Melly .

I got myself a new computer and managed to get myself to appear in chat without actually being in chat, so apologies if anyone was confused. I'll have to figure it out soon so that I can regail you all with my latest adventures... ... ... the yawn Emoticon is located in the Ernest Gallo thread.

The Weatherman Death Pool
Canadian Paul replied to weatherman90's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
Quick question: You used to have a thing under the scoring system that said "Add 3 points for a suicide." It's gone on the new page, so does that mean it's gone for next year too? -
Patty Andrews visited for her 89th birthday. Seems to be doing pretty well for herself.

Rostropovich has been discharged from hospital and is said to be feeling fine. I've cut him, along with Marquez and Iloilo, and I've added in the recent suggestions that I've been slacking off on. Also Bill Walsh is still ill, but still golfing.
