Yet another deathbed article. I am aware, by the way, that these articles are basically saying the same thing - dying, but with some punch in him yet - but I figure that a) Not much else is happening at the moment and Taken together, they produce a very accurate picture of his illness.

Bradbury makes public appearance at library. Included picture makes him look healthier (and somewhat fatter) than the last one.

Who's Going To Be Around For A While?
Canadian Paul replied to Banshees Scream's topic in DeathList Forum
Probably not all that well known, at least in England or the U.S., but French alpine skier Emile Allais turned 95 today and is, apparently, still skiing according to an article from last week. Again, not famous enough for DL (and likely to make it to 100 in any case), but an interesting fellow nonetheless. -

Hooray! Was hoping a news article would surface for his birthday, but there's nothing I can see... In related news, my (formerly) unique DDP pick Steven Hill is 85! today! It's an octogenarian celebration! :party"

Not to be outdone by Canada, the United States decides to lose another veteran as well.

African Leaders - Despots and Democratic
Canadian Paul replied to Cowboy Ronnie's topic in DeathList Forum
I saw that this morning and was thinking, boy, after all the countries in Africa that we actually did go over... -
An excellent suggestion! Why, wouldn't it be great if she had her own thread?

Mentioned in the I&P thread, King Crimson drummer Ian Wallace has died of cancer.

Good...unknown health concerns for an unknown person....sounds fair. No different than most of the unknowns you raise from the acting boneyard. No wait, a little different. This one got a mention in the BBC.

Are there any Universities near Maryport? I had a dream that I got accepted into some university around Maryport, so MPFC picked me up at the airport and drove me around, introducing me to all his mates. He was a 25-year old bloke with a stringy blond mustache and straight blond hair. He was like, the typical white guy, ripped white shirt and faded blue jeans. He talked with only a hint of a British accent. He told me that he lied about having a son but said that he wanted a daughter. Then he introduced me to all his friends, many who were upstanding and attractive young female business women. He also had a surprisingly attractive young Asian girlfriend who enchanted us with her stripper routine. He was also too cheap to pay for gas, so he drove us halfway, then insisted that we walk the rest of the way.

Bollywood megastar Saif Ali Khan is in the hospital with unknown heart problems. Famous enough for mention on the BBC and only 36, but apparentely "out of danger." Then again, they said that about Pinochet and Papon... (yes I'm aware that they were in their 90s, but still...)

Hazlewood does another final interview of sorts, though granted he's not exactly calling it that. Still, I had to look over the other ones to make sure they weren't the same. These interviews do give a good watch of the progress of his condition, which isn't progressing much. Though I have him on the DDP and the CPDP, can't say I'm sad to hear that he'd still sticking it out.

Birthdays, Births, Anniversaries ,etc ...for 2007

Happy 114th birthday to Deathlist's first hit! -
Then I'm sorely disappointed not to have been nominated for 2005. Hope you didn't take it too personally. I just heard that they're introducing a "biggest pedant" award for the next round.

You joined December 22, 2005. You weren't eligible for 2006.

Fair enough. My guess is that they'll all be around come March, but the size of March's haul will depend on whether or not one carks it this month (bigger in March if they all live). On further reflection, I say if someone does die, it's someone less expected ie. Not Tammy Faye, Sharon, Castro... maybe closer to Lady Bird Johnson. I don't think February has shown us everything yet... but it may not be a DL candidate who goes... I'm thinking Hazlewood or perhaps the untimely assassination of Obiang Nguema. I noticed Roger Ebert still isn't back yet either...

Tsk tsk CR. I beat you to this one by days.

Not to mention that everyone was complaining all last year and it was our second best year AND that our best year ever didn't have a single hit until March...

I can't say whether or not he was guilty of the crimes accused. What I can say is that he was never in the shower with her... Marquez has yet to pay off in the WDP for me, which is a bit frustrating since I chose him over Billy Preston. Marquez HAS become a more popular pick though, so perhaps this thread did some good after all? I'm really impressed that you remembered this thread and its details? Selective memory?

So I had this weird dream last night where I met Fidel Castro in the airport and he took me to Cuba so that I could learn Spanish for my trip to Puerto Rico. I remember waking up this morning and, in morning haze, thinking to myself that I should sign in to DL so that I could tell you all that Castro was doing well. No squids, Satans or undead gay orgies though, sorry guest.

Rostropovich feeling better with a non-life threatening condition. Obviously to be taken with a grain of salt, but I've not seen any contradicting reports.

1/4th dead Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, How long can they Carry On?
Canadian Paul replied to a topic in DeathList Forum
Still, a relatively tame fetish for a rock star I suppose. I like the idea of Crosby as a pick. I see RA pick him all the time and it's one at first glance seems sort of dumb, then when you sit back it's the sort of pick that epitomizes the game for me. Youngish, has a host of health problems, but cannot be "fingered" with any reasonable certainty. A pick who you wouldn't be surprised if he died, but you wouldn't be surprised if he went on to the next year. Also, led an interesting life, so he's plenty fun to talk about. He'd make a good DL pick for next year I'd imagine, should he decide to stick around until then. Not much reasonable complaining one could do. Satisfies both the "anti-cheating bastards" and "I can't believe you missed X Q and Y when they were clearly dying" camps. -
I dunno, it is a bit hard to judge unless you're actually in that situation - but I personally would find it difficult to knowingly sacrifice even one innocent life to save my own, much less 1500+...
