Grand Duchess Josephine-charlotte(luxembourg's Qm)
Canadian Paul replied to Earl Gloomy's topic in DeathList Forum
I was thinking of putting him on my DDP, but there's really no news on his health out there as of late. Given that there's so many other good candidates, an 80+ year old isn't worth the risk. -
I saw it. Picking the person in the link would have made picking the subject of this thread look like picking Maurice Papon.

The Weatherman Death Pool
Canadian Paul replied to weatherman90's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
The tie is likely to be broken when Tammy Faye decides to give up the ghost. I just hope she can hold on long enough to be my 2007 DDP Joker and minimize the loss. By the way, I like the new layout W90. -
Not so sure... Wrongipedia says that that Helen Gardner was born in 1908 and they seem to have different occupations. Either way, not worth the risk of picking her I'd think.

I hate to be BS, but Elizabeth Bolden was on my "I don't acknowledge its existence" HDP entry for this year. See you the day before Christmas Eve then? Edit: Oh yeah, site updated to reflect Bolden's death, while we're at it.

Great minds think alike eh? I really don't care about this enough to make any more of a deal about it. As you were typing this, I've deleted (but saved) my previous posts on the subject for my own personal reflection.

After thinking about it for a while, I don't care enough about this to defend it. I think Godot and I agree in theory, but our practical interpretations differ. I really don't care. List her. Don't. I don't care. I don't want to be associated with this so publicly.

I voted for 12, the dozen being complete with Charles Lane. I was considering voting for Heston, but I always do that and I'm always wrong.

Congrats! It's a good one to start with too, generally someone considered not well liked. I haven't been doing that all this long - from Reagan to Carr (I didn't have Pinochet on any list sadly), there's only been 16 hits, mainly because I didn't figure out how to do this properly until the inception of the WDP. I think my airplane thing only works on DL candidates, which means I can't influence them until well into 2007 since I'm driving back instead of flying. Besides, if I started talking about fundamentalist hardliners while waiting for my flight, I might not make it off the ground.

Third time's a charm eh OoO? Yes, the site has been updated to reflect points going toward's Football Fan's and The Judean People's Front's Theme Teams, putting them in first and second place in that category respectively. By the way, I've noticed that I got hits on November 5, 17 and 29 (Ecevit, Puskas, Carr) in my deadpools... if it's happening every 12 days, then I'll be due for another one tomorrow.

Ha! Never fails! Whenever I get on an airplane, someone on the DL dies, good job that it was someone to break up the moral tension recently on DL. Interestingly enough, he died on the same day as our last December DL hit - Richard Pryor. I continue to stick by my prediction that DL will have one more hit before the year is out. Well done!

I swear he was mentioned somewhere, but I couldn't find it. Anyhow, Martin Nodell, co-creator of The Green Lantern, has died, aged 91.

Since there's no news on Ronnie, why not read about the day a journalist met Ronnie Biggs in a gay bar in Rio (seriously).

Isn't everyone on the list 'unreliable'? Can a death ever be a rock solid certainty? (OK, yes, there is Saddam). Even Sadaam isn't. If he turns 70 before his execution date, Iraqi law prohibits his execution. I'll one up you and say that we'll see two more deaths. November was cruel, but the closer you get to the end of December, the more famous undoings you tend to see.

Birthdays, Births, Anniversaries Etc...2006
Canadian Paul replied to Tuber Mirum's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
Happy Birthday M Lawrenson! I know you like motorcars, so here's some birthday sexiness to get your heart racing: -
I wonder why he's getting so much press? Mostly when they go, they only get a news story in the local news, yet Buchanan has been getting it nationally and now... internationally? He was one of just two WWI vets still alive in Massachusetts Which makes even less sense. If he's not even the last of something, how come he's getting so much press? The last British female WWI veteran got almost no press aside from a few bits and kibbles in the UK. A lot of veterans who are the last of their area don't even get obit period. How did an otherwise unremarkable WWI veteran get coverage all the way over in England? By the way, to keep on topic, it appears that Moses Hardy has died, though no newswire confirmation as of yet.

Just where exactly was she sporting this "massive open gash?" I think our guest is referring to her nether regions that she seems to be so intent on flashing around to everyone.

Ideas & Possibilities - The Names
Canadian Paul replied to Octopus of Odstock's topic in DeathList Forum
Finally done with finals, so now I have a chance to go over everything in detail, to remove some candidates that have stuck around there for a while that I haven't bothered updating. I was thinking of making a new thread where we could do our final discussions for the year, but I think this one will do just fine. -
Seen Any Good Films Lately?
Canadian Paul replied to Cowboy Ronnie's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
I don't think we've ever agreed on anything before, but thank you for being the only other person I've ever met who realizes that Jack Black sucks. To keep the post relevant, I think he ruined the new King Kong movie... or if not ruined, at least diminished its quality. He did not suit the part at all. -
Oh man, CP, you owe me for this. An atheist watching a Billy Graham Christmas Special - and having to watch the whole damn thing. He wasn't on it. The only thing they showed of him was a taped evangelistic hoorah that was held July 9th in Camden Yards. No Billy Christmas message or anything. The special was pretty much done by his son. I have to go take a shower now. What a bummer. Can I make it up to you with another poem CA?
