Big hugs and condolences to Toasty-lady. May your loved ones rest in peace. Best wishes. x

Saw them twice in the 80s. This sux. Get well mate SC I can't find any details on the prognosis, but I'm assuming since they're only wishing to raise about $50,000 that the prognosis is promising. Don't have a link but the official X Facebook page says he's back on stage performing and gives a handful of upcoming dates. SC I prefer to give a handful of upcoming plums.

Blooody hell !! Bernard Matthews would've had a field day with her turkey neck. It puts Anne Kirkbride/Dierdre Barlows to shame. Weeell, almost.

Ah indeed, it'll be the 20th anniversary since her album was unleashed upon the more discerning, listening public.. and a damn fine album it was too ! The lyrics to 'You Oughta Know' still ring through my ears when I left my ex-wife.. after I caught her muff-ruffling with another woman, as ya do. (I only left her 'cos she wouldn't share)

He's 74, and he has had ALS since... forever. The problem is that given the stage of his disease, even a minor infection or pneumonia can cause grave problems. I'd say that he has a pretty good chance of dying before the age of 80. Also if he develops any form of cancer or heart problems treatment would be very difficult. Nah, it'd just be a case of plugging his jump leads into a 12 volt car battery while Mrs Hawking changes the four AAA's in his Speak & Spell. Job done. He'll be good for another 5 years !

Did he actually do the voice of himself on The Simpsons though? Technically yes.
-
One of these nights, he'll take it to the limit & erm, top himself. (I'll get me coat....)
-
Alanis ? Now that would be ironic.

Irate Visitors Rage Here, If You Must.

It seems that Mr Emerson did 'a Kurt Cobain'. Suicide by a single gunshot.. although Cobain gave it both barrels. -
Just think, looking at the gap between posts they could be 12 years old before the next comment..... Well spotted. Did it on purpose of course. Just to prove that some old rockers have still got it. Right.. probably see you here in 2028.

Who Do You Think Will Win The Democrat And Republican Nominations?

Trump for president. Then we'll have fun with World War III and if we're still alive, can go into serious overdrive on this forum. -
Me Telling Phantom To Kill Himself

I'll be totally straightly honest here, I have never had any issue or grief with any member of TDF. The regular gang of posters are an entertaining bunch of down to earth folk who are harmless enough with a great sense of humour, wit, common sense & intelligence IMO. My rule of thumb is 'treat others here how you would like to be treated yourself'. Slagging off/taking the pi$$ out of the dead is why I'm here. That's about it really. If I want to be a bitch & slag off fellow forum members I'll join 'Mumsnet' or the 'Gay-Forum'. -
Alternatively we could always diverse this thread into dead people with the surname of Smith. It is still the most common British surname.

Ronnie Wood to become a father of twins at 68. Fairplay to him, the dirty old dog.
-
Good point, though I always thought (dead behind the eyes) Aherne sounds like Jane Horrocks on Temazepam & Ketamine.

Indeed Sir Creep, anyone in the public eye can meet the Grim Reaper at any time. For example, we all know Paul Daniels is about to pop off, but who'd have thought prog-rocker Keith Emerson would go before him ?
-
What the fuck is THAT on the left ? Linda McCartneys corpse ?!

The circle of life! In this case, whilst having a 'wee of fortune'.

http://ultimateclassicrock.com/keith-emerson-dies/ C'est la vie. DAMN!! Another shocker in the music industry. I would have him on the same level as Bowie but certainly there with Frey and White. Funeral for the Common Man... Indeed. At his funeral, while his coffin is lowered into the sodden ground, he'll then be known as Keith Immersion.

But now they can call him the 3rd dead Beatle.
-
Pete Best ? Can't be Stuart Sutcliffe, he died in 1962.

Why do you persist in including Howard Marks in this category? He was released from prison over 20 years ago. Maybe he was referring to Groucho Marks ? “When you're in jail, a good friend will be trying to bail you out. A best friend will be in the cell next to you saying, 'Damn, that was fun'.” (Wiggles cigar)

Never heard of him, but I have heard of Doug E. Fresh who had a top ten hit in late 1985 with ' The Show'. Sounds even crappier now though.

She looked like a skeleton anyway... but with hair.
