At least you will always have the delightful Dave Dobbyn to thank for making 100% Pure New Zealand such a hot tourist destination...

I certainly hope so. It makes me sick that in this day & age the rest of the world simply shakes their heads, lament something along the lines of 'oh, that Bob, but his nice wife does spend a lot in our shops when she's here' and let him carry on. I take it there isn't any oil in his country? Even if not, surely a claim that we have 'some' evidence he's been hiding oil reserves below ground and we need to invade to have a really really good look for it would be a good enough excuse to invade? In a list of 'excuses used to invade liberate a country', it's not even nearly the worst I've heard.

Is there not a US version of this? Never knew this: Bizarrely, Orwell's own inspiration for Room 101 lies back at the door of the BBC, as it was the office number of a senior BBC programme editor who often rejected or edited Orwell's work. Orwell took revenge by making the editor's room a fictional place of great horror and evil. An idea that was faithfully adapted into 'dinnerladies'... except all traces of humour were completely removed first. Quite literally.

My personal favourite is the average pundit's ability to compare every single sporting competition on the face of the earth to a chess match 1) if the game is evenly matched or 2) if it looks like someone is thinking a bit. I once got a bit annoyed in the Jake Lamotta thread when boxing inevitably got compared to a game of chess; how unlike a game of chess could a sport be? As far as I'm aware you can't start twatting competitors with chess pieces if you're unable to outwit the opponent using the more traditional moves.

Surely they all doff their caps to the master, Mr. Beckham. Worryingly Beckham's voice and grammar were actually much worse originally; he's reached his current verbal mastery after elocution lessons. At the end of the day.

I see someone told the Aussies they were playing a game of twenty 20 against South Africa today; Hayden in particular, 81 off 55 balls at the moment... -

Happy birthday BHB! And welcome back too. Like the Eagles said: - 'You can check out any time you like, But you can never leave.' -
I'm a bit surprised to still be alive this morning. Although not as surprised to find I was quoting Paula Abdul lyrics last night...

Deep Throat chokes. (Class A) Headliner. Fair enough, I asked for that. Now that I'm sober I'll stop trying to work out what the reference to class A's is. I got the throat/choking reference, jolly clever.

Ah! I see. Can I borrow your glasses then, 'cos I don't.

I reckon I'd be a great moderator. I'd ban me for a start.... Sorry for tonight's posts, I'm drunk for the first time in about 3 months.

I've thought for hours once before, about how Adolf Hitler could with stand such stiff hate, and be so cold hearted. And never feel one drop of guilt in his empty conscience. His pathetic inner self, and hopelessness made him who he was. It was revenge. It was payback time. Not any conscious walking human being could suffer more then him. He believed this and within this man he held no mercy. For what ever his downfall could have been, he wanted the reflection shined on every living creature. The wish for all to suffer deeply in your heart is the face of true evil. And when Berlin was captured, the mad man Hitler came out more and more, demanding suicides of his own soldiers, and harsh direction to top SS commanders. Hitler failed, but for the second time. The first failure which led to his fallen glory may never be revealed, in the second he took a revolver to his head. I believe Adolf Hitler died long before 1945. What long lived in him was not of his own. I don't know if this is the place for it, but it's my two cents. He's a cold heated snake, Look into his eyes, Oh ho, He's been telling lies.

May I suggest it's already too late?

Wouldn't that post be more fitting in the Brad Delp thread?

Just to bring the intellect back down to my level, that is very f*cking funny! I shall set a reminder for next week... ps Twelvetrees, did you help write the 'ORB (Oxford St, Regent, St Bond St) An Action Plan For The Retail Streets' booklet my office received today? I quote (favourite bits highlighted): - i.e. the pavement will be wider...

in so many ways... Not bad, only 5 mins before that very hurtful and completely unwarranted reply got posted. From one of the clear favourites though.

And I remain pointless.

Then I'm guessing Fidel Castro just to cover the anti-communist squid related bases. Plus if I'm right I can genuinely say I've got a point, for the first time ever.

I've got an idea, but it'll take bloody big microwave and a rather large tupperware container. I think I'll send 'em an email to let 'em know. How about a load of these? I thought of them in the first place because I remember seeing them on some shoddy shopping channel or other years ago; the fact there's a job lot available in no way detracts from their quality I'm sure. Plus it means there should be enough available for such an unusually large job. I couldn't be arsed to do the maths to multiply up the sizes used in the examples to get a new estimated defrosting time for such a huge squid, but I'm confident it will be of some help. Shame it's PayPal only and they'll only deliver within Europe, maybe they'll allow a special arrangement to get rid of such a huge amount in one go? I may have given this problem slightly more consideration than it warrants...

Ta very much Cap'n & NAP, I'm sure the Hoover Logo is now large enough for me to create a suitably naff t-shirt using one of those t-shirt creation websites. Now I just need to make sure the site I use doesn't have copyright issues, I think ebay might be useful for that. I will post a photo of the finished article in a few weeks time, like it or not. If you're very lucky it'll be me modelling it. Well, I'll be the one wearing it anyway. What a tremendous 750th post from me right here, I don't feel at all embarrassed to say...

That's horrendous, txt spk hs tkn ovr de wrld. I'm sure it takes more effort to spell everything so badly (but still be obvious as to what word is meant) than to learn the right spelling most of the time. Maybe it's cooler to deliberately mis-spell words rather than to unwittingly f*ck your spelling up all the time? I think the comments posted about the 'Bexleyheath' video were probably more insightful with regards to the average mentality of the locals than the actual video, which was reasonably well put together and an attempt at some humour by highlighting the negatives of the area. It's not really that bad, I'm sure there are many worse places to live. Probably...

Ta very much; much bigger size than my ones, although ideally I'd like it to be bigger. I was looking for one that'd go most of the way across the chest? However, this one is good enough to save the day.

That's no guarantee... I can vouch for that! Not that I was particularly looking to be taken seriously...
