Knew a Lee Avalon-Dick and a Lucy Farr back when I was a student, I suppose at least Lee's first name didn't begin with an 'I'. Clients I have dealt with in my time inclued Tegwyn Thomas, Stafford Fitch-Bunce and Charles Conrad-Pickles. The last one is funny because he is a fairly senior chap in the financial services industry and is very old-school posh and I guess years ago he must have decided he wanted a suitable name; the rest of his family only have the surname 'Pickles'... He used to go mental if anyone even called him Charles rather than Mr Conrad-Pickles who wasn't a close personal friend (or at least seriously wealthy), so I guess Charlie Pickles would have made him go beserk. Back to my own pet hates; pedestrians in and around Oxford Street. I have to walk down about 100 yards of Oxford Street on my way to work (just past HMV) and spend much of my time in the surrounding streets, and I'm starting to think either everyone there is either blind drunk from quarter to 9 in the morning onwards or some huge magnet has f*cked their sense of direction. I used to think old people were the worst for random direction and speed changes, but tourist shoppers are far worse. They switch between that and single-minded straight line marches with aboslutely no sense of where anyone else on the pavement is, and try and get aggressive when they walk into you. I used to work in the city until a few months ago where it was busy enough, but I suppose most of the pedestrians there were workers so they knew where they were going in advance thus causing less problems. I have twice had to shoulder barge people out of the way recently when a group walks towards you spread across the entire width of the pavement and no-one moves out of the way to let you through; very satisfying though. I probably didn't need to do it as hard as I did either.. Most of the time I'd rather take my chances in the road, although then cyclists become the silent killer. At least when they carve you up on the pavement you are morally in the right....

Just to pop slightly further off topic if I may, 'harsh... but fair' has to be one of my most frequently used phrases. Strangely I remember where I first read it; in Loaded magazine when they mentioned the shooting of Andres Escobar, the Colombian footballer who was murdered back home by an enraged 'fan' after scoring an own goal against the USA in the USA '94 World Cup... Not sure if it's an urban myth, but apparently Alan Hansen said something along the lines of 'that's a terrible defensive error, he should be shot for that' when doing his post match punditry at the time. If Venables had said it, I reckon the police would have checked to see if it was more than a coincidence. Anyway, Britney. Erm... .... -

Happy Birthday Pooka! I hope you have a sufficiently exciting birthday day to not see this until tomorrow, unless it's within the next hour or so. -

Whereas these fine chaps wrote their own material, leapfrogging Elvis & Sinatra etc. to the credibility they always craved. Including one of the finest opening lines in pop history: - 'I watched you crumble, like a very old wall.' -

I once read the entire Richard O'Sullivan thread in one afternoon to see what the fuss was all about. The fact that I not only still live, but willingly visit this site, means I think I'll be able to take it. -

Aaaarrrgghhh!!! The thread I've always feared. I once thumbed my nose at the very idea of a 'what's your favourite tune' thread as an argument to show why the DL was better than some awful forums I've visited before... But I'm comfortable enough with my own hypocrisy to join in, of course. This list applies to the precise time of this post only: - 1) Porn Shoes - The French 2) I Took Her Love For Granted - Hefner 3) Summer Breeze - The Isley Brothers The fact that I heard all of these on my mp3 player on the train this morning is at least 95% why I picked those three, if not 96%. On reflection, this isn't the thread I always feared, that was a 'what are you listening to right now?' thread. That little beauty (not on this site I hasten to add) had tens and tens of thousands of posts of people reeling off albums one track at a time for what seemed to be days on end, with the odd reply post of 'Awesome!' or 'That sucks' thrown in for good measure... not that the dullness stopped me looking through tens of pages in disbelief first! -

I hope you were still not fully recovered when you posted this? I imagine the subtle change is because I've finally run out of lines I can get away with stealing from TV and passing off as my own, and have finished the regurgitation of anything interesting I've said or done in my past; I'm surprised I strung it out for over a year if truth be told. It's why I find it useful to change social groups every few years, I get to re-use everything. I warn you all in advance; any views and opinions I express on this forum from now on, and until further notice, will mainly be my own... Edit: but still completely off topic, as indicated above. -
It's overrated as far as I'm concerned, it tends to leave me with a cricked neck. I suppose the best way to make a farewell to the 'oval office' for good would be through use of the back door....

Happy (belated) birthday OoO! Hope you get suitably wasted at the party tonight, and long may your posting remain as relevant to this site as mine isn't. In fact, even if you log on later whilst massively worse for wear you'll probably still manage to mash the keyboard in a more on-topic way that I manage sober. -
Doesn't this demonstrate beautifully the problems of Faith i.e. 'we can't prove anything but we insist you believe it anyway' wrapped up in layers of guilt aimed at those who question 'Faith' to make them feel weaker for daring not to accept without question? If stuff like the above wasn't about religion it would be dismissed out of hand as lunatic toss. As indeed it would be if a new religion tried to prove its credentials with statements like the above. Never forget, fact into doubt won't go.

Yes. I am also of the opinion that it could be absolutely anybody next. You mark my words. Of course once the first person on the list dies, I will be able to exclusively reveal why I knew it was going to be them all along.
-
I disagree. But only with your use of the words 'most' and 'recently'.
-
And your talking out of your ass. It certainly didn't happen that way, mark my words in blood. You were all supposed to shake your heads and be so glad that she was gone, but instead not believing in the facts and not believing in me. Which seems to actually agree with what Honez is saying, if my translation is accurate. I believe in you, I just don't believe you, as and when I can decipher your posts. I'll consider myself f*cked then. Hopefully in a gentle way with some nice music & soft lighting. BS, you might do well to wonder why people (or me at least) don't seem to believe you. If you re-read the evidence (all of which you posted yourself I might add) you might see some clues. I think if the first post I'd ever read on this site was your annoucement of 'getting rid of' RDW I'd still have been suspicious that it made no sense and some tampering had occurred. And a quick view of no more than a random half dozen of your & RDW's posts would quickly lead me to the same conclusion I've come to now. Obviously, I've no special ability in deducing 'what people really mean' from the subtle grammatical undertones or nuances of posting styles, but with your unique style I don't need it. You make bricks look subtle. Could we just lock the thread rather than delete it, if the thread is to be moderated?

Sorry it's late (and plain, but that's cos it's late), but HAPPY BIRTHDAY LADY DIE! There. And may there be another fantastic 1,000 posts from the wonderful cap'n. -
At least have the good grace to put your hands up when you're caught BS. I can honestly say that it you can reasonably prove you didn't muck your comments about before posting online to look wittier then I will unreservedly apologise for having doubted you and making your audience fidgety, or whatever it is you believe the other members of this forum are in relation to you. Good job I didn't say 'I'll leave it there' then, that was about as successful a quitting as are my various giving up smoking attempts.
-
OK, maybe some of my having a go at BS was a bit personal, if I've overdone it then I apologise, but the point I was trying to make was that it had nothing whatsoever to do with who BS's public quarrel was with, but the fact he made it public and he also made it up. It makes no sense as a conversation, and I'm sorry but out of the two posters there is no argument as to who makes sense in a straightforward gramatically correct english way, whatever you think of the opinions. I'm sure BS's general posting is really clever on some special level that my narrow mind is not perceptive enough to grasp or something, but I can't believe some of RDW's replies to BS's messages wouldn't have been along the lines of, "What? That doesn't make sense." if he hasn't changed his comments before posting. I'd say I'll leave it there, but I've already thought that a couple of times since yesterday so what do I know?
-
Possibly you didn't change a word of her responses. However, I don't believe she's mentally disturbed, but if you didn't alter your comments she would appear to be because as per boringly usual with your posts/replies one comment bears no relation to the one that follows it, and LCR's comments are consistently far more lucid than yours. So I take her side without a moment's thought. JC is not my lord, swear as much as you like. It's not me attempting to lead people away from the truth, your exceedingly inept attempt at being a clever poster is very much the epitome of BS, in both senses of the name. But mostly in the bullshit sense. I've not edited anything, so everyone can read your post and make their own mind up. I'd be surprised if many people take your side on this one, whatever they think about LCR. Humble pie order cancelled, I will not even entertain the idea that I'm wrong now. I can't believe I felt slightly guilty the other day for always picking holes in your ridiculous posts, but the one above demonstrates very clearly to me why I should continue. You got blown out, and she didn't like your poetry. Go away and grow some testicles. Sir, I bid you good day. I need to remember why I shouldn't get worked up by stuff on a forum, I think the answer is the nearest bar.

Then you should leave. Something like Michael Jacksons face? [edit: early contender for 'worst comeback of 2007' for the next Monkey awards?-TLC] Alright I just thought about it. No wonder why you have a ex husband. O and this is goodbye. Well you might not read it, but every member on here will. [Thread merged with the existing RDW one - ff] This is the cleareast post you have ever made BS; it shows, you ought to get wasted more often. Sorry guest, but if those are really BS's actual 'at the time' responses then... well... I can't think of a witty comparison, but they look very clearly to me to have been invented afterwards. I've not always been a huge fan of Rebecca De Winter's posts, but I've never doubted her sanity or ability to respond to the actual questions put to her. Take a look at the paragraphs I've highlighted in red and tell me if you still think the remarks above them were BS's original comments? No, nor me. And how rude is that to put Private Messages on the forum? As I recall BS had a bit of a thing for RDW (or Lady Clarissa Richmond, the alter ego), so my spidey sense tells me he didn't get anywhere, he was never one of the people complaining about her. RDW's replies look to me like BS has been bombarding her with unwanted PM's, although of course I have no proof that he'd be the sort of chap who'd resort to that sort of behaviour. Re-read this thread (if you can find the mental strength) and make your own mind up. Although if you come to a different conclusion to me, you're wrong. Seriously, seriously wrong. ps BS, if you're going to edit your responses to make them look clever, at least actually make them look clever. Now would be the time for you to come back with proof that you really haven't edited yourself. I have checked if the local baker has a large supply of humble pie at the ready, just in case.

Who'd have thought grammar could have such a direct biological effect?

An early contender for 'biggest sour grapes post of 2007'... I concede I may have failed to pick up on the irony of the above post. If so, that's one wild post right there. Crazy.

Only in Colombia would the watching children think that a bloke jumping out of the audience and killing two clowns was part of the act... everywhere else in the world kids would probably wish it was the case but never dare dream of being that lucky.
