Of course this poor show was discussed at lunch today. I proposed that The Rapture actually did happen last Saturday, but that nobody made the grade. To my delight one of the ladies eating opposite at the table lost her appetite. I couldn't have put it better. regards, Hein

People I Was Surprised To Find Are Still Alive
Magere Hein replied to Catherine's topic in DeathList Forum
I think you are missing the point of this thread somewhat. Indeed. To get back on track: last week I learned that Willem Duys1, a fossil of Dutch public TV, is still alive, if only barely. He was shown on a tribute programme and looked as if he suffered several strokes. He was unable to speak. If he lives, he's a safe bet for 2012 (at least for PNDP). 1Yes, it's a horrible bot-translated article. I'll fix it when I feel like it. regards, Hein -

Ah, but he's no amateur, so if he does, the suspect will be dead. Possibly even the witness. regards, Hein

You're not Mark Thatcher by any chance are you? What makes you think that? It must be the love shining through the words. regards, Hein
-
As far as I know Maggie Thatcher has never been a telegraphist.. Hardly likely. Isn't it 42? The meaning of life? No, 42 is not the meaning of life. It's the answer to the ultimate question of life, the Universe, and everything. Unfortunately, we don't know what the question is. 88 is, of course, also the word generally used for the German 8.8 cm FlaK 18/36/37/41 AA gun, perhaps even more feared as an anti-tank gun. Are we on page 88 yet? regards, Hein

Nobel Prize In Death

You've got it! Yes, YES, YES! Thanks, TMIB. regards, Hein -
I think you're on to something. In very right-wing circles it's not unusial to sign off messages with '88'1, the 8th letter of the alphabet being 'H', therefore 'HH' , to be understood as 'Heil Hitler'. Let's hope she dies before she's 88. 1Among telegraphists '88' is also used as a sign-off. To them it means 'love and kisses'. 73, Hein

You should know by now. There's no moderation policy against swearing. The majority view is that we're an adult forum. Tender souls who cannot handle strong language aren't likely to become members here. There used to be a swear filter, that replaced "cunt" by "c*nt", or something similarly silly. Nowadays it's only used to replace several brand names of pills to "SPAM". regards, Hein

In this case I don't mind much, as I received a PM with similar content, but I do not like PMs being discussed or quoted in the forum. From now on I'll bin such posts on sight. regards, Hein -
Today in 1619 Johan van Oldenbarnevelt, political leader of the Dutch Republic from 1586 to 1618, was beheaded in The Hague, aged 71. regards, Hein
