Jesus Harry, I remember that spoof!Sad twat that I am, I actually got all those theme tunes right Joking aside, he was a clever bugger really, so many of his dittys forever etched into our brains. Almost three years late I know, but (at least part of) the sketch. Nice bit of topic resurrection, hmb&wa. regards, Hein

He took his bloody time though... Ah, the Holy DL-tease is still touching a nerve... Yes, the suspense could have killed me. regards, Hein

As good a reason as any, I'd say. Of course we don't have real borders anymore and there are voices to increase drinking age to 18 here, but otherwise his progam sounds rather Dutch. And that for a Jerry. regards, Hein

I've never read anything Mr Quantick has written other his inane tweets, so I don't know how sound his judgement normally is, but I think you've hit the nail smack on the head here. He's obviously not thinking clearly. I attribute his confusion to stupidity rather than malice. Whether his stupidity is grief-induced and temporary or permanent remains to be seen. regards, Hein

Erm, surely they've got their scales mixed up here... Lobster thermidore anyone? No, 110 C, not F. At least that's what nu.nl claims. That's a Dutch language news site and the Fahrenheit scale has been out of use for more than a century here. [mode=geek] BTW, as long as the air is very dry and you drink lots of water, you can stand such a temperature for a remarkably long time. The operative words here are enthalpy of vaporisation. Letting water (read: sweat) evaporate from the body is a very effective way of cooling. The heat it takes to evaporate water is equal to five times the amount of heat it takes to get the same amount of water from freezing to boiling. [/mode] regards, Hein

Welcome to DeathList, philheybrookbay, where death comes alive. regards, Hein -
Exactly. Every day brings her demise one day closer. And what a day it will be. regards, Hein

The problem is not your disbelief, although that may have made it worse if it was a Well-known Fact. The problem is that you were a 'member' of a band that's not an association with bylaws and regulations. Proper associations have rules for booting members, like a hearing in which all members have a vote. Such a meeting can still be ugly, but at least reasons for excluding a member must be given. You joined at 5, so that's hardy your fault, but that doesn't make the events any more palatable. regards, Hein

It appears that some twitterers can't be bothered to click a few times more to see where these posts have gone. Things are getting amusing. regards, Hein

My only connection to DDP is having a team in it, so very IMO: if the entry is libelous, I'd agree, but otherwise I couldn't be arsed. Do F&F request that obits about their beloved dead be removed from news sites? Do they want fan sites closed? I don't think so. We'll see. This forum is de facto DDP's common room. I'm not prepared to remove messages or parts thereof only because some dodgy geezer might not like it. regards, Hein
-
Thanks, Lady G., for splitting this topic from the DDP thread, good thinking. Extra brownie points. Edit to add: the DDP entries we're discussing are here: Quantick, David and Wells, Steven. More edit to add: ISTM these blokes are marginal celebrities, if celebrities at all. The only good reason they're deadpool material is the fact that newspapers tend to write obits for dead journo's. regards, Hein

He probably thinks you're the main man! I'm a bit concerned with this. I don't want this to spiral into some media thing. It is the silly season after all and I know a wise man once said that all publicity is good publicity, but this might provoke a shit storm... Best practice, I think, is that TMIB quietly ignores all further personal communications. There's little Mr Quantick can do besides whine. A shit storm doesn't bother me much. I don't expect that this will spill over to DL, but if it does, management can handle it, I trust. A few nice rants would certainly increase entertainment value here. What worries me most is that, rather than discussing our successes and failures, we're wasting our time on this rubbish. regards, Hein

Also done. I was confident somebody would make a better suggestion. My sub-header was a rush job. regards, Hein

The Iranian authorities are in denial. It was just a firecracker! (Hmm... why would they lie about this? Do they actually nééd a reason to lie?!) I suppose not: It's more complicated than that. They don't have any homosexuals in Iran! I suppose that for Mr Ahmadinejad and his henchmen denial is a river in Africa. regards, Hein

Actually I think you'll find he died aged 99 years and 226 days. Uh-oh, who left the door of the pedants' ward unlocked? regards, Hein
