Yes, we are. We all are. I don't know how they call it in the US, but I used appointed here in the sense of: non-elected. At least, that what's we call non-elected executive or judicial staff here; there's often some form of parliamentary confirmation part of the appointment. In Europe procedures differ widely, in my country it's the only way. We don't elect judges or local, provicial or state officials. All appointments need consent of appropriate representative bodies. I see little difference in the way US cabinet staff is appointed and the way Ford got his VP-ship. Whatever you call it, he wasn't elelected in office as VP, and that was the point of my remark. I don't know, perhaps there isn't. Only a few of the members here live in the US. US politics is foreign politics for most of us. I'm certain the average DL'er has better knowledge of US politics than the average USAian of European politics. But then, what do I know? regards, Hein

Lets hope they wait at least another 5 days before they hang him. I get this horrible vision that they'll do it Sunday at dawn, just out of bloodymindedness. And to annoy us. regards, Hein

No, president Ford wasn't elected in office. He was appointed vice-president after Spiro Agnew resigned and became president after Nixon did the same. regards, Hein

I've just been passed by a team called deathlist.net, who were one point behind me. regards, Hein

Thank you, Mr President, for this late xmas present. 13, not a bad year at all. regards, Hein

Good, he will get the punishment he deserves. If the damn bastards hang him this week they've made months of speculation in this topic useless. Not that I would mind much... regards, Hein

What happened to all the posts that were after this one? I could have sworn there was more or am I dreaming? I moved them to the "Margaret Thatcher" and "The Bible" topics, because off topic. regards, Hein

1. Of course it is!2. I already have. I gave you examples of what the zionist agenda is. Austria is compliant with them like all Western nations 1. Ok, that's settled then. 2. What I want is evidence for Austria being run by jews and zionists. Sources, as in: statistiscs, political studies from people who know what they're talking about. I'm not the least bit interested in what you make up. regards, Hein

[Non-answers snipped] Quit blowing smoke and answer the questions.I already have! You spouted an anti-zionist screed and conspiracy theory. You didn't address my two simple questions. Don't hesitate to spell your answers out, just as I in did my questions. regards, Hein

[non-aswser snipped] Apparently you didn't understand my questions. I'll spell them out: 1. Do you think that Austria is run by jews and zionists? 2. Can you produce any evidence that Austria is run by jews and zionists? regards, Hein

What else would you expect in countries run by jews and zionists? I suppose you mean Austria with such a country. Would you care to back up that assertion with some source other than your bigoted say so? regards, Hein

It will pass over my dead body! I think one of the reasons that Australia is allowing the country to be invaded by Asians and other non whites from a non European background is so they will vote in favor of a republic! I would hope that anyone not born in Australia or of European heritage would be excluded from voting in any future poll (which should be decades away or hopefully NEVER!). I doubt the idea of second class citizenship will go down well with the Aussies. Hey, hasn't Math 6:24 something to say about serving two masters? Anyway, we'll see about The Republic aof Australia. Or not. It's Not My Problem. regards, Hein

Questions 18 and 19 I don't know the answers to, but I do know where to find them, if that's any help. The rest: not a clue. Edit to add: 21. regards, Hein -
Ah, from regular medicine to a faith healer, that's always fatal and quickly so if it's used instead. He's a gonner. But will it be in 2007? Decisions... regards, Hein

The point is Australia has clearly and freely decided to retain its monarchy. The issue has now been settled. Australia doesn't want such lunacy and it just goes to show the republicans could careless about the democratic wishes of the people that they refuse to accept the outcome of the poll and keep pushing the issue. Australia shall remain a constitutional monarchy and that is only right. If it wasn't for the fatherland there wouldn't even be an Australia and we wouldn't be having this conversation. Australia already has its own elected parliament and prime minister. That is enough already! I'd never thought we'd catch one of those alive in our forum: the pompous royalist. Take notes, Windsor, there's something to be learnt here. May I ask you something, just out of curiosity? Don't feel obliged to answer. You claim to be a pommy by birth. Do you have Australian citizenship? Anyway, there'll be new referenda, and one day it'll pass. I wonder if I'll live to see it. regards, Hein

Don't talk about it, Adminship is even worse, nowadays. Did you also have to deposit a little brown bag with unmarked 5 pound notes, at 11:15am in the left men's toilet in the White Horse at Parson's Green? regards, Hein

Of course this gives me the opportunity to help DL to make an early hit, perhaps even two. Amsterdam is an hour's drive by train, The Hague that by bicycle. Truth is: I probably won't notice. regards, Hein

There's of course also the matter of principle that a decent democracy is a republic. Not only is it firmly undemocratic that a nation doesn't get to choose its head of state, it's also undemocratic that in a monarchy the head of state has little say in her or his life and mode of employment. regards, Hein
