Terrorists & Topical Terrorist Targets
Magere Hein replied to maryportfuncity's topic in DeathList Forum
From a historical point of view that's a bad comparison, but I can imagine that those who manage or perform these attacks like to see it that way. I agree with that 'run out of oil' thing, but for another reason: without petrol to power it and oil revenue to fund it, this war will soon run out of steam. I won't live to see that happen. I think that a strategy to ending it sooner starts with an analysis of who gains financially from it. Whatever one thinks of globalisation, it's a fact we'll have to live with. regards, Hein -
Terrorists & Topical Terrorist Targets

who cares.all I know is its 2 less muzzy scumbags in the world.job done ! I care, and I hope others do. I don't miss the people who did the Charlie Hebdo job, nor the person who shot the police woman. While I don't much doubt that the correct anwer to my first two questions is 'yes', I'd like to see evidence for that. My questions are things we need to know to have a chance to fight back and avoid at least some repeats. Just killing the attackers is a losing strategy. regards, Hein -

Terrorists & Topical Terrorist Targets
Magere Hein replied to maryportfuncity's topic in DeathList Forum
Well, that was that. For now. Now it's time for awkward questions. Are the two dead assailants of Dammartin-en-Goële indeed the people who did the Charlie Hebdo job? Is the dead hostage taker in Paris the person who shot the police woman? Did the two dead assailants of Dammartin-en-Goële do their things in collusion with the dead hostage taker? Are others iinvolved? How skilled were they? Obviously they knew how to handle an assault rifle. The Charlie Hebdo assailants seem to have done some, but not much homework. They knew who they wanted, but didn't know the exact address where they worked. How do they fit in international Halibut terrorism? Where did the weapons come from? Where did funding, if any, come from? My suspicion is that these men were fringe, with enough connections to get some military training and the guns. I doubt they were acting on direct orders from overseas. regards, Hein -

Fair play, you called it. I hope they catch the bastards. Meh! Poke a hornets nest and you get stung. Those cartoonists probably should get a Darwin Award. [sarcasm]Yes, let's blame the victims, that'll work.[/sarcasm] regards, Hein -
Double points awarded for guessing the right Denis Norden. Considering his name, he had to be in twice. BTW, I forgot one other choice, now added. regards, Hein

I think teachers deserve all the holidays they get. The gods know that we need them and that the pay isn't great. We could do with better teachers, though, and children with more interesting stuff they're taught. regards, Hein

Well... the other person who knows (probably) and ain't tellin' is Lucan himself! If he's alive, that is. He'd be 80 if he were alive, an age fewer than half of men reach. Yeah, but I'd say two things are fair guesses: 1 - He was spirited away alive somewhere, and not killed later as some have suggested by being dumped overboard in the channel. 2 - There's a passable chance an aristocrat with - probably - access to some funds etc. could survive to 80, even if he's in Africa. True, after all several nazis gave data points in that respect. I've reread the Wikipedia article about Lucan and it gave me some thoughts. Let's consider the following assumptions: Lucan did indeed kill Sandra Rivett. The lead pipe in the car he used is reasonable evidence he did. The story that he intervened in an attack by some third man is just that: a story. I wonder if the physical evidence from that time is still in existence and available for modern forensics. Lucan did not commit suicide or get killed soon after 7 November 1974. That leaves a man who Is wanted by the police and Interpol Has no valid papers Is effectively bankrupt Has little or no cash If he did indeed have friends willing and able to help him, gettting him out of the UK would involve some improvisation, but would certainly be possible. Getting him to a place where he could 'lie doggo' would presents more problems, such as getting a passable passport, but nothing that money can't solve. He was 40 at the time, so something like 'building a new life' is possible, but increases the risk of exposure. Financial support from friends or relatives for many years is possible, but also increases the risk of exposure. To keep such a scheme going, the fewer people in the know the better. It can be done, but dodging death and keeping it all secret for fourty years taxes my imagination. But again, several nazis showed it can be done, even when you're not an aristocrat and when you have very determined people looking for you. regards, Hein

So our best hope that our #1 pick will end up dead in 2015 is making von Anhalt look as if he made a crass joke about Muhammad. regards, Hein

The details are mixed a bit mixed up (all Belgium, no Dutch involved, no court involved, doctor pulled out, moved to a psychiatric ward), but yes, the euthanasia is off, from what I learn from Belgian media. regards, Hein

If I read that correctly it was a terrorist attack orginised by a mr Bin Lorry. Makes sense. regards, Hein

Nah, surely this surreal hell will end soon and we'll be back to a situation we recognise. And what other team with results you can click on BBC Sport/Digibox etc. has been so consistently bad for so long? We're not the kind of supporters who turn their backs on their side after a few won matches, are we? regards

What Do You Think Of The 2015 Death List?
Magere Hein replied to Davey Jones' Locker's topic in DeathList Forum
You're quite right. I thought I solved that. I'll investige the matter immediately. Sussed! I didn't even know there was a forum setting for "don't show posts older than ...". regards, Hein -
Oh dear, I completely missed that. Would have been a nice addition to my theme team. Interestingly, the last sentence of that article says: "Sinds Van den Bleeken zijn euthanasie via rechterlijke weg afgedwongen kreeg, volgden al minstens 15 geïnterneerden zijn voorbeeld.", which translates to: "After Van den Bleeken got legal affirmation of his euthanasia at least 15 inmates followed his example." regards, Hein

At least Montt has a release date. Something to cling on to. Scratch that! Montt spent just a day in prison, as his sentence has been overturned by the constitutional court. He's now in a military hospital awaiting retrial. http://www.guardian....-case-collapses Efraín Ríos Montt's genocide trial is about to resume. His lawyer has asked the court if Ríos Montt could be absent due to bad health. regards, Hein
