Is that the Scottish artist or the DUP guy? Neither Octo my good friend, he's a snooker referee from the Golden age. He was ref at the first Crucible final in 1977, Alex Higgins' greatest moment in 1982 and was famously embraced by Kirk Stevens in 1984 when the Canadian did his memorable 147 at the Masters. Whilst watching the snooker in December, Willie Thorne mentioned that he was 'very poorly' Did a bit of research, thinking that he was a current ref. Lo and behold turns out he retired ions ago, so I took a chance... I'm hoping he's my 'Kenneth Griffith' for 2007... Where's your list Octopus? I looking forward to yours.... Yeah...John Smyth...snooker ref...name rings a big bell missed him .

I see just about everyone has this Lee Hazelwood chappie (apart from me....) . He clearly is slightly more famous than I thought....

YOU WERE THERE.....???? blimey.....I thought I had a boring life....
-
maybe we could have...but she seems a decent enough candidate to me...oldish....with all her best years behind her .
-
I beg to disagree. She is definitely a goner maybe a gooner...but not a goner... Though I bow to your recent successes in picking.... just noticed FF , that you are based in Canada , so your "football" might not be the same as mine...and hence my fantastically well crafted pun on "gooner" may well have passed you by....apologies....

World Famous....and very active

But 675 hits is utterly pathetic, she shouldn't be on the list it's a bloody disgrace. DeathList is demeaning itself. I agree, it was a cheap shot, especially with Charlton Heston ripe for the picking. Tim Johnson is only 60... But it's not our DL, it's GRs. We heavily criticized last year's list, and it turned out to be the second best ever... so we should see how it goes. We should have had at least 15 hits last year. Ruby Muhammad may well be a hit but a very poor quality one. As you say when Heston was left off how did she get on. Tim Johnson is also a disgrace, an obscure Senator who has only come to prominence because his death would alter the balance of power in the Senate. I still think Ruby Whatsherface is famous ...I can see her now....(maybe thats only because I spend all my time on Derby Dead Pool... ) Lee Hazelwood is a nobody...with a silly name . Tim Johnson is also a nobody.....not sure I agree with him being on the list...but hey....its not our list , is it boys !

sorry if I was offensive TF.....didn't mean to be . Insinuating that someone was a member of the legal profession might be construed as a compliment . x million google "hits" is no measure of famousness (but thanks for the links)...I have now found out how "famous" Lee (Mr Entertainment) Hazlewood is....

I'd have to admit to not having heard of him - but he does appear to be a good bet I'll agree with that. I too have never heard of him . And anyway,I think that the 2007 Deathlist HAS to be a little bit bigger than most Lists/games . All 50 picks need to be more than just "a little bit famous"....Even Ruby whatsername is famous to me . And if I was a Halibut (and most people are)...she would be the most famous of the 50 ! The Nation of Islam has got bugger all to do with mainstream Islam. Most Halibuts think it's a joke. but famous non the less ? Is she bollocks. I like your style and polite turn of phrase.....legal profession ?

and unfortunatley , he could well set off 2007 with a few maximum scores...

I know this is off topic (cant be bothered to find the correct thread)...but ARE YOU WATCHING THE DAGGERS GO and neither can I, but remember MPFC said Oxford were too good for that league?! Reading won 6-0 today. Very good. DDP team to be revealed shortly. you will soon see , OoO , that my footy allegience bounces between the Mighty Daggers , and the not so Mighty Hammers , depending on the results....

you mean "if" she goes......we have another Tomlinson here I think....and I reckon all those who have picked her should be ashamed . Ashamed at lack of knowledge I mean....not Ashamed due to "being a sicko".....I'm a firm believer in anyone is fair game . I just dont see her as a candidate.....and as for those who've wasted the joker....
-
some interesting picks here.....(and a few I need to go and look up ! ) Not sure about Korchnoi....I think he has been inactive (chess-wise ) for a couple of years...but I doubt if thats anything to worry about ...unless you have heard something ?

CONGRATS....I think you are first !

I'd personally say they were ALL worthy of mention, having fought or served in that war. But if I get your gist correctly:- Harry Patch is a man I have utmost respect for. Watching him on TV remember true horror is something you don't forget easily. Robert Meier, the oldest German veteran, is the only survivor of the Somme. Emiliano Mercado del Toro is the oldest person in the world. A few others have been around & about in the last few years, like Claude Choules etc. yes...sorry...I take that back . They are all clearly worth a mention...indeed they deserve our gratitude and admiration . But what I really meant was are they famous enough to merit a mention in terms of deadpool candidates ? Now you mention Harry Patch , I remember him on the tele too....amazing !
-
Haven't you explained deadpool rules to her? There's loads of last minute changing going on. I mean, world politics and that is all very interesting but let's get our priorities in order, eh? I agree 100% ....unfortunately todays 18 year olds seem to think they can "CHANGE THE WORLD"..."HELP THE POOR"...etc....what nonsense... That's damned dangerous talk, all the world's really nasty troublemakers and warmongers were/are idealists. well...she (and her clever lefty boyfriend) are definatly idealists.....I'm a bit worried to be honest....lets hope that in 5 years when there is a massive bomb attack on the House of Commons , there is no mention of the Grobler family .
-
yes...but apart from Heny A. (who is a star !)...none of these blokes are worthy of a mention , are they ?
-
Handy runs a good comp....and I am going to win 2007 !!!
-
If you change your mind, my Aunt owns a bed and breakfast here in Fraserburgh... thats a bit too far for her to commute to York Univ ......
-
Blimey...as a West Ham fan (as you all know..the team that won the World Cup)...I remember Haller very well . Worth watching (then and now)
-
ummm.... I think Ill keep her "lefty and boring".....rather than drugged up on smack
