I recently read about a reunion for the Shadow F1 team employees. Most significant team members were there, but one missing due to 'ill health' was former team boss and Grand Prix driver Alan Rees. Rumours on the German motorsport contingent on FaceBook, that Erich Zakowski, founder and team owner of the former Zakspeed Formula 1 team has died, just shy of his 90th birthday. However, I've seen nothing from anyone I would class as an authoritative source yet. Suspect it's true but keeping an open mind.

Killed himself just after watching Charlton pummel Reading 4-0. I would understand if he were a Reading fan, watching them right now is soul destroyingly bad, but he was supporting Charlton! When I worked in a book shop many aeons ago, his books were immensely popular. I always got the feeling that no-one would admit to buying or owning a Courtney book, but they were the perfect books to read on holiday and then dispose of overseas. Somewhere on the Costa Brava must be a massive book depository of old Courtney tomes.
