    Time Added

If this thread is to stay on topic and be a discussion about old football managers who are ill/old then I suggest the following: Malcolm Allison (drink & ill health) Ron Saunders (just plain old) Bobby Robson (everything under the sun) Tommy Docherty (getting fatter and older) Dave MacKay (not in best of health)

    Derby Dead Pool 2007

I'll do it, as long as no-one else has already e-mailed them. There's some updates I've found anyway, so I can attach them to that.

    Frankie Laine

Ah.. that's a great shame. I think that's another of my original 2004 picks on the DDP who has died a relatively short while afterwards (Bezzerides & Sheldon) this year. EDIT: Yes it was. Only Warren Christopher, Michael Gough, King Harald V of Norway, Harry Morgan, Maurice Papon David Rockefeller & Gloria Stuart remain. Time for Papon to go then. I though that when I saw Griffith Jones had gone. Papon should not still be alive at 96, FFS.

    The Dead - 2007

Iain, get your facts right if you will insist on continuing to post here (under whatever nom de plume you use). His name was Griffith Jones. He was 96 years of age and not just "in his 90's." Is it too much to ask for you to use basic reading comprehension?

    The Chequered Flag

Bob Droeger (1916), Andy Granatelli (1923), Frank Beardsley (1926), Frank Burany (1915), Danny Kladis (1917) all drove at the Indianapolis 500 in the 1940's. Jim Rathmann (1928), Neal Carter & Peter Hahn (both 1923), Roy Neuman (1927), Johnny Kay (1919), Don Freeland (1925) and Frank Munday (1916) all raced there pre 1955. There's a few more, but there's a noticeable gap as the late 50's, early 60's saw (and has seen) such a death toll that there's a small age gap until the likes of McElreath & Ruby.

    Derby Dead Pool 2007

MPFC's team is up, including another 69, which includes Ailing Leaders of Africa, which has named a few mysteries I was keeping up my sleeve. I must admit a lot of the more "unusual" mysteries I was hiding have appeared on the DDP this year. I'll take that as a compliment that my former mysteries were considered good candidates by others...

I expect a lot of the old guard to bow this year as de Graffenried & Oakes have already done, but none of the current F1 racers.

Aye, it's wonderful, truly, truly wonderful, but tinged with incredulity. 6th in the Premier League? 40 points by Feb 3rd? What IS going on?!?!?

    The Dead - 2007

Iain/Dave/Smithy/Stan/Cuntface, whatever you call yourself now, it would help if you took the time to LOOK at the obit. Cropper was the ex-wife of Bill Roache. A great actress, I remember some of her fine performances well.

It gets worse as it also appears that Rudolf Seim of Germany & Gheorge Panulescu of Romania may also have died in the first two weeks of the year.... At this rate it'll only be Henry Allingham & Harry Patch left.......

    Football

Arguably, debatable but since the DTFC goalkeeper seems to delight in getting sent off often, it adds some spice. Despite all this, they're in a promotion race. Suppose entertainment for money value is better. In fact, it's even cheaper for league games - £7. (I went for FA Cup). All the below & lots lots more can be found at the mightily impressive (for a non-league club below the conference certainly:-) website http://www.dunstabletownfc.org.uk/ Admission Adult £7.00 Concession £4.00 Under 12s £2.00 Season Tickets Adult £120.00 (works out at £5.00 a game) Concession £77.00 (works out at £3.50 a game) Under 12s £44.00 (works out at £2.00 a game) All prices include free transfer to Main Stand Compare that to £32 to watch Wigan at Madejski tonight. I love my Reading, but you can't help thinking supporting non-league teams week in, week out is a hell of a lot more rewarding as well as cheaper.

    Ideas and possibilities for 2008

Well enough to do TV appearances (Nov 06), but frail enough to be in a rest home, if that's any help.

    Windsor Davies

On telly as well tonight in a Comedy Connections It Ain't Half Hot Mum show - looks like he enjoys a drink or two, but looks very well. As too, I thought, did Donald Hewlett, Jimmy Perry, David Croft, Michael Knowles - in fact everyone apart from Michael Kinsey, who played Gunner Evans. Rather a fat fellow now... John Clegg, Gunner "la di da" Graham, was not on the show. In fact, I thought he died years ago, but when checking Mavis Pugh's obituaries, it appears he is still alive. So it seems they either die early in that show (McDonald, Mitchell, Bates etc.) or are immortal....

    Charles Lane

Lane is probably thinking It's A Wonderful Life. He was in that too. Top man.
