That's selling Alexander short. He had a pretty distinguished legal career as a barrister plus also was the first barrister to be shown on television arguing a case in the Court of Appeal. -
Died, without any news items covering it, in late 2016, according to the GRO. Edit - Tim Price that is, not Lardy

Osvaldo Cruz definitely dead now https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.pagina12.com.ar/533410-murio-osvaldo-cruz-emblema-de-independiente-en-los-50 -
Oh no, how terribly sad. A quite formidable woman but also a really lovely decent and kind lady.

There's a lady between Little and Large that's not been identified yet. Also who are the two with Sharp, Holmes and Hewer? Also on there is the late Felix Bowness and Pat Coombs. -
Anyone want to *cough cough* alert TMZ about Tongo's death?
-
Likewise. I actually remember him most from the children's television show he did, and was always pleased to see him on the television thereafter, but I must admit I thought he'd died a good 10-15 years ago. RIP

Sorry to hear this. Your efforts with old actors and footballers was phenomenal and I'll struggle to keep this up by myself. But I do understand and wish you well. -

Saif Ben Sulayem, son of FIA president Mohammed and briefly a racing driver himself has been killed in a car accident. https://www.motorsport.com/general/news/fia-president-ben-sulayems-son-loses-life-in-road-crash/10441692/ -
The great man has his own thread thanks to the admins. For context, he looked better a few weeks prior talking about his old friend John Motson https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=644830447650130&id=100063695407274 Looks older than his years but not as dreadful as in that picture. Bad photo or sudden illness?
-
Thank you, I had to give up, even though I followed it all to the letter. He didn't appear to go on the pitch for applause, but John Still (next to Pleat in this picture) did.

Lengthy interview. Based on this, you'd be looking at DDP 2028, I'd say. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-64823856

Fontaine's death is significant in World Cup terms as it removes the oldest top scorer and the only one living pre-1974. 1930-1970 are all dead (as is 1982) so Gregorz Lato (1974) is now the oldest. Also, although 3 squad players remain, none of the French team that played in 1958 are still alive. They were doing remarkably well until relatively recently, but they've all passed on now.

I always felt it was no coincidence Routledge said "The lady of the house speaking" in Keeping Up Appearances as a nod to her rug muncher?

Thanks Sinbabad, much appreciated

Ken Tyrrell too, who was known to be very ill on late 2000. -
Appears to be sudden. Was going out 3-4 times a week. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-beds-bucks-herts-64759055

Borgudd got QO's from the Sun and The Star https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/f1/slim-borgudd-abba-f1-29303275.amp There's definitely more widespread coverage for racing driver deaths, albeit the last four deaths all raced in the 1980s. The real test to QOs will be if one of the elder midfield or backmarker runners gets a QO when they go. That said, Jabouille and Tambay were race winners and Borgudd had the ABBA link.

Former session drummer for ABBA, who was later sponsored by them during his motor racing career, Slim Borgudd, has died. EDIT - English language obits will come through, but here's one with a nice photo of the ABBA link - https://f1i.autojournal.fr/infos/deces-de-slim-borgudd-pilote-et-musicien/

Slim Borgudd died today. Its on Facebook but will get a better link in due course. And here's at least one - https://f1i.autojournal.fr/infos/deces-de-slim-borgudd-pilote-et-musicien/

For completion, Christian Atsu is the third death from the 2014 World Cup, following another ex-Newcastle player Chieck Tiote and former Honduras player Juan Carlos Garcia. In other news, someone who has survived an earthquake, Guy St. Vil of Haiti, is in a critical condition in hospital https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-38760-haiti-news-zapping.html

Fair play. There is no doubt he was going to die, but I dropped him over obit concerns.
-
Thank you for this information. I've read the Eden and MacMillan books and they're very good and well-researched.
-
I fully expect an obit on the 29th December which starts with.. "My former colleague Mark Stokes, who died in January" writes S.Cooley, "was a brilliant...."
