If it's December, it must be DDP decision time. One I've cut (I promised to myself to have 40 to choose my final 20 from on December 1st) is South African politician Mario Oriani-Ambrosini. He has terminal cancer and will likely die in 2014, but I really, really don't think he'll get the relevant obit. Good luck to those who go with him.http://www.dailymaverick.co.za/opinionista/2013-11-01-the-politics-of-cancer-mario-oriani-ambrosinis-personal-odyssey/

At this rate, Brazil aren't going to have any 1958 World Cup winners left by the time the World Cup starts next year - or judging by today, construction workers at their stadiums. But seriously, to lose both the Santoses and Gilmar, on top of de Sordi's passing, is a tremendous shame.

She wasn't a candidate for the DDP due to her age, but I am sure there are some DP's with less scruples who would've included Olivia Wise, who had her 15 minutes of fame on You Tube singing a Katy Perry song. Those with their ear to the ground who partake in said DP's cannot pick her now, because she's sadly but unsurprisingly died shortly afterwards - http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2513799/Olivia-Wise-version-Katy-Perrys-Roar-went-viral-dies-cancer.html -
Cayetano Re, who played in the 1958 World Cup for Paraguay, arguably Paraguay's greatest ever player, top scorer in the Spanish La Liga for Barcelona in 1964/1965, was coach for Paraguay at the 1986 World Cup, owner of the shortest ever surname in World Cup History AND one of the first (and still) few players to admit they have Asperger's Syndrome, has died - http://www.fcbarcelo...964-65-has-died One of the younger 1958 players as well.

I don't think he'll get an UK obit but he's certainly ill enough - Raymond Gravel, priest and former MP, has terminal cancer - http://www.lifesitenews.com/news/priest-suing-lifesitenews.com-diagnosed-with-terminal-cancer

Originally posted by myself in 2012: Well, Sytner seems to be ticking over okay, but Bond has finally lost his fight against cancer today, after being admitted to Poole Hospital last month. I still doubt he will get the obit, not that it matters now.

Michael Palin on the other hand is pretty much a living saint, if not more so for putting up with these two, and Sir David Frost, for 45 years.

Bollocks. There goes my joker pick -
Sadly, as I understand it, Jim will be lucky to see December, let alone 2014.

The reason he's not on the original list is he never played. For the games vs Sweden it was Lucidio Sentimenti, who is still alive and aged 93. Against Paraguay it was the late Giuseppe Moro. The Wikipedia page about him is a load of bollocks. The below links are just two sites that confirm Sentimenti - I couldn't find anything other than Wikipedia about Casari. Another reason why I don't trust Wikipedia with World Cup "research". http://www.rsssf.com...intres1950.html http://www.planetwor...wc50groupc.html What he did do was taunt his own fans during the game - http://pcsd.forumfree.it/?t=59259813 and Wikipedia has taken that as he played.

No, relatively speaking, but compared to an even he was at in Argentina in January/February, it's a swift decline. The effort for him to talk and the fact that's he's now wheelchair bound doesn't bode well. But to still be able to fly around and to try and raise the message about the disease and remain so positive, is thoroughly uplifting. I hope he's still with us in 2015, but sadly, I suspect he will not. PS Thought Gareth Edwards has aged a lot lately.

Ideas And Possibilities For 2014
Octopus of Odstock replied to The Unknown Man's topic in DeathList Forum
Well, you know what, I'm not - as it stands - including her in 2014. If you read into her situation a little bit more, she could actually be alive for another 20 years or so. That said, tactically speaking, DDP wise, she's worth a lot of points if she did deteroriate, so for those teams who are struggling to get to 20 names, she's not the worst pick ever. I feel there's 20 better prospects than her at the moment.
