and her husband was called Jim, whereas as you say she was married to Ivan. Looks like Handrejka (or Wiki's) Keogh is a completely different one. What annoys me about this is what I was alluding to in the World Cup Players thread; 1) Original research is frowned upon 2) Obvious rubbish links to try and fit something is accepted. I found it with a racing driver once who was the same name (quite common), same year of birth but no link at all to their history, their family. Just shit. Well done Spade on your list. When I did my analysis, I was thinking of going down that line but I couldn't be bothered after looking at a few teams.I do geniually feel I have "deaths in hand" over the leader and I don't regret picking Crowe. But maybe tactically I should've picked her like I should've done Nolan.

It does already, it has had hits from there before. But no-one other than yourself seems keen on picking under 18's.

To be honest, not many more than you've mentioned. Carbajal will and Ramallets should. Eizaguerre.. maybe. Palmer is a slim-line chance. The rest... nah

Well, all of the above are somewhere on the net; Rene Quitral - Chilean site - search for "1982" "Rene Quitral" Ingvar Rydell d. 20 June 2013 - I think updated now Rodrigo Ruiz d. 1999 - on a Spanish Wiki Juan Burgueno d. 21 Sep 1997 - all of these Uruguayans are on this link - http://baudoscampeoes.blogspot.co.uk/2012/08/copa-do-mundo-de-1950-no-brasil.html Hector Vilches d. 23 Sep 1998 Carlos Romero d. 28 Jul 1999 Rodolfo Pini d. 31 May 2000 Jose Naranjo d. 13 Dec 2012 - His Spanish Wiki page Friedlander was in a book - I think one of the Sky Sports Yearbooks. Lusenti and some of the others were on a very good site called Player History, but it seems to have long disappeared so all the online history has gone, sadly.

I would update WIkipedia, but it doesn't like, encourage or support independent research done via books and online death records (Because I've spent ages trying to edit racing drivers without success. So now I don't bother. 1954 to come in the next week or so.

Just to confirm some: Rene Quitral d. 27th Nov 1982 Ingvar Rydell d. 20 June 2013 Rodrigo Ruiz d. 1999 Juan Burgueno d. 21 Sep 1997 Hector Vilches d. 23 Sep 1998 Carlos Romero d. 28 Jul 1999 Rodolfo Pini d. 31 May 2000 Jose Naranjo d. 13 Dec 2012

Swede, most of those are dead and most of them did play. Rydell (who died last week) and the Swiss bar the youngest three are dead, so are the majority of Mexicans, Chileans and Paraguyans. Dont rely on English Wikipedia, I've been researching this for decades. Also South Korea weren't there in 1950. But of the non-players, Beara and Nilton Santos are the best known.

EDIT - Thanks to Death Impends, who I've copied the layout from so I can update as per necessary.

Time to repeatedly pester the Guardian's NFL correspondent with Jack Pardee questions? Absolutely yes. Might as well ask about Chuck Fairbanks too to be fair.

And so I lose my DDP lead...

I'm rather sorry, on a number of counts, to bring the news that Roberta Cowell is dead. Sadly for Funky Faz, especially so as it's his joker pick, she appears to have died as long ago as 2011 - http://forums.autosport.com/index.php?showtopic=187817&st=0entry6339396

Princess Fawzia, on the DDP as Fawzia Shirin, and a pick for two teams, has died - http://www.reuters.com/article/2013/07/02/us-fawzia-idUSBRE9610XE20130702 She was sister of King Farouk and the first wife of the Shah of Iran. UK obit from Reuters.

Janet Fielding, one of the Magnificent Seven I need to die to get all 20 deaths on the DDP (even if Pardee doesn't obit, he's still dead), looks like she is pulling through at the moment - https://twitter.com/...8207488/photo/1 - she's going to be in Slough on the 3rd August - surely there must be a Whovian who would be so kind to go and find out if Fielding remains an inspired pick or whether she is now recovered and subsequent ruin hopes of a Grand Slam.

One other for this month not mentioned on the List of the Missed: Jerome Karle (d.6/6/13), Whilst I see Frolian Gonzalez becomes the first ever DDP graduate to die on the 12th June.

Well, maybe I've benefitted so far, because Pertwee wouldn't have made the top 20, but Dora Bryan and him would've been dropped in deference to Sandy Jardine & Ron Henry, which if all died, would be about 4 more points. If I'm being really truthful, I think Borgonovo would've ended up as a sub. But bar Cox, Hawkins,Vilanova and Kilby (one not worth it, 3 recovered), the other 15 join the likes of Wilko Johnson, Valerie Harper and all for a place in the OoO 2014 alumni.
-
It's a first hit for my footballing theme team, but I'll be slightly pissed if I end up losing the whole thing because I put the likes of Metsu, Jardine and Borgonovo et. al on a theme team. I've already decided this is the last year I'll deliberately weaken my team, so no more theme teams for me from 2014, even if it does make picking a top 20 more difficult.

As for the pun, although I think we've had the best one, I would still like to submit Africa Korpse for consideration.

Penny Marshall has said a number of times that she is fed up of hearing she's on death's door and complains she can't get any work because everyone think's she's going to snuff it - although the bulk of the interview is about her Mum, the relevant information is near the end - cancer free according to her - http://www.alzinfo.org/03/articles/penny-thoughts

That last minute change for Pertwee was a boost as it turned out, less so for Princess Lilian. Innes-Ker has been out and about a lot more lately but it's still not clear if he's beaten his cancer - however Derek Thompson has beaten his cancer - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/horse-racing/21703628
