Gair, the Dulux Dog since 2011, and who features in the latest advert where the young chap paints his flat pink to attract young beauties - has died, at the age of 7 - http://www.scotsman.com/news/scottish-news/top-stories/dulux-adverts-dog-dies-of-brain-haemorrhage-1-2853766

Bert Williams - well enough for ilengthy nterviews, sharp as a tack, but as England's oldest living player, he looks much more frail than he did just a few year back - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/21879191

Anibal Paz is one chap who won't be following the mass of World Cup games these next few days. Paz was part of the 1950 World Cup winning Uruguay squad, who played one game in the run up to the final game. He was also, I believe, until his death, the oldest surviving player who played in a game (Rene Llense, who will be 100 later this year, was part of the 1934 and 1938 French squad, but didn't play) - Llense was a keeper, so was Paz - http://www.dailytimes.com.pk/default.asp?page=2013%5C03%5C23%5Cstory_23-3-2013_pg2_10 - and Bert Williams (see next post), was also a keeper and I believe he is one of the oldest confirmed living World Cup participants.

Country singer Dawn Sears has stage 3b lung cancer. http://www.theboot.com/2013/03/06/dawn-sears-cancer/ -
Who's Sterling Moss? Any relation to Sir Stirling Moss? That said, you need a young English chap who has thinning hair and slightly larger ears to play him, who isn't a poofter. Wayne Rooney, step forward for your film debut...

Yep - http://waz.trauer.de/Traueranzeige/Martin-Bormann - these things are very reliable, I've come across them before for German racing drivers. I'd also argue the religion thread as MAB himself was best known for his theology work and wrote many a theological book. Obviously the family have decided on a low-key announcement, which isn't surprising.

The DDP has a new entrant for its top 40 in 2014 then

World's oldest man dies. Not Kimura, but an apparently verified 154 year old Saudi (according to an ill-informed article) http://www.arabnews.com/saudi-man-world%E2%80%99s-oldest-dies-record-154-years

Tomas Enge, former F1 driver, has chronic cardiovascular disease. He's 37 later this year and would get a UK obit, I'm sure.

Princess Lilian was consistently in my final 25 during the whole of December, flitting in and out of the top 20. But she was eventually dropped for reasons of age, and CMJ, Michael Winner and Damon Harris pushed her out. Although I'm greedy and am disappointed not to make it hit number 9, the fact that the three previously mentioned have scored points - and that none of the leaders picked her, then no real disaster. Arguably, she was the TRUE Princess of Wales....

The old Canadian Paul Death Pool had a number of decent Canadian options - Maurice Strong was the one I picked donkeys years ago and he's still going strong.

Too early to concede just yet RA! Indeed. If Star Dust gets obits for Harvey and Bos, I'm not even going to be in the lead. I think there's at least 20 teams still capable of victory yet. I think of my remaining 12, Pardee is a given but the others, although ill, coulld hang on in there for a while yet. If Farmer, Athaiya and Fielding go, then I'm a bit more confident about victory. But Lisa Lynch is surely going to die this year and get an obit, so that's 20 points to DDT, and I didn't pick Bernie Nolan. Tactically, although I think Nolan will see 2014, maybe I should've chosen her ahead of Suarez.

1979 League Cup final referee Peter Reeves dies aged 80 - http://www.thisisleicestershire.co.uk/referee-Peter-Reeves-Leicester-dies/story-18342270-detail/story.html#axzz2Mz2mlfpq - in the article it mentions; Can't see that happening to Phil Dowd somehow...

Hugo a go-go?

My eighth hit but Im not sure if Im in the lead any more or not after this, Cliburn and Franklin, Harvey and Bos. A lot of jokers flying around

Lisa Maree O'Hara, picked by one team, died on the 5th January 2013 - http://tributes.heraldsun.com.au/obituaries/heraldsun-au/obituary.aspx?pid=162207357#fbLoggedOut - should be listed under "O". No valid UK obituary yet, and judging by the time now passed, probably isn't going to get one.

Zheng Cao, opera singer and one-time lover of Troy Donahue has died after a long fight against cancer. I was aware of her fight against the disease, but thought UK obit chances were a bit too risky. Very Ill Turned Very Dead didn't, and if Cao does get the UK Obit, then they will move into 2nd in the DDP if I've done my maths right. Link is here; http://myfox8.com/20...zheng-cao-dies/

I am sure Damon Harris will get something soon as with entertainment deaths, the BBC seem to like a few days grace before reporting some singers' passing, but at worst case scenario - does this - http://www.bbc.co.uk...44-21e67948dab3 - count as a valid obit or not?

Harry Thompson wasn't a comedian per se, but he was a comic writer who died young.
