32 minutes ago, Lafaucheuse said:I already said it but Ulliel was one of the most famous actor in France When he died.
Sophie was well known among young lgbt people hence my interest for her. I remember that my social media disn’t stop talking about her for a whole week When she died.and O’Rierdan, I thought as an english person you would say she was quite famous. Being the lead singer of the cramberies is, in my opinion, a great deal.
the one that I wasn’t so sure about is Sala, which I never heard off until his death. But I’m not really into football.
now the thing with Presley is she didn’t die from unnatural causes like the others. But I would say it fits because no one of them died from an illness. All of them just died all of a sudden
Ken Block surely fits 2023 better than Presley (i.e. as famous as Sophie or Ulielll is he in their field) in terms of how they died.

"When filming for the Orange Playlist in his Thames-side faux pimp suite, Lee Ryan (out of pop group Blue, for the benefit of our older DL'rs) started tinkling about on his piano.
A member of the crew asked him if was any good, to which the new Kenny Thomas replied:
"Not bad I spose, but I ain't no Picasso."
Fantastic. "

Sir C is right though, Stanley Mills was not the 'inventor' of the Chicken Dance.

2 hours ago, The Old Crem said:The British press gave the reports of terminal cancer too much coverage for it to be totally wrong.
ITV are planning a true crime documentary on him for later this year.
The neighbour was named and identified so if she hears of his death you would expect she would tell the press for example.
Well, possibly, but if she tells the media straightaway, there would be a media frenzy towards the street. The neighbours might choose to give it time so to dissipate that.
That said, I will admit it would be hard to keep it a secret for too long considering the carers, nurses etc.

I didn't pick him for the DDP as I had a gut feel the information may not be as reliable as originally made out.
That, or he's already long dead and we only find out by death indexes or detective work.

His death could be crossposted in the Olympic thread, as he won Olympic sailing gold in 1960.

Apparently suffering from kidney problems.
Worth pointing out that Lunar New Year is a massive time in Thailand so if they are waiting for that, it could be sooner rather than later that they pull the plug.
From twitter;
⚠️ UPDATE — According to royal and medical sources, Princess Bajrakitiyabha is developing acute kidney injury after nearly a month of being kept artificially alive on an ECMO machine.
She has been brain dead since December 14 but her body was kept alive. 1/3

He does mention that it could be a year in the article.
Either way, sounds end-stage

Ron Harbertson was a guest at a football game just a few months ago. Definitely alive.

Ridiculous. How dare prominent North Koreans have the same name.
Still, proves the search function works.

Who knows with that place, but it's still something to keep an eye on. Maybe if he's not dying naturally, he'll be 'taken out'.
Well, over ten years on, there's suspicion that's (being taken out) exactly what's happened:

Well, @Spade_Cooley will take another step towards a DDP title when the QO comes. Sad news, great little player

I'll repeat what I posted in the Pele thread: https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/20522325/germany-legend-beckenbauer-to-ill-to-fly-to-qatar/
I agree about 80 being a tall order, although I don't think he's on his way out this year.

18 minutes ago, Joey Russ said:Never really thought of Campbell as an obit risk, especially given the Yahoo expansion and the fact that UK media seem to be getting slightly more favorable towards American athletes in general. Plus his career was decently lengthy, not just some nobody who played 3 games in total
Well done Joey and Sir C (and anyone else who picked him).
Slight gnashing of teeth here, but at least it's a useful judge for obit-ability for future years.

6 hours ago, Sir Creep said:Well, that’s interesting. The only mention of it was a guy on Facebook who writes about the Montreal Expos, a non-existent team (that I follow lol). Maybe a family member said something?
Ah well, his chances of an obit are slim, surprised a top DDPer like you chose him but that’s a good sign. Good luck to you lol.I came very, very close to putting him in, once I saw the hospice information. But baseball has a very hit and miss coverage and I felt he wouldn't obit. His career was lengthy, but not hall of fame worthy.
I think I mentioned him in the salvage lot thread.

1 hour ago, Perhaps said:I'm a lot more concerned about that Thai princess. She would always be a gamble of a pick, but I don't like the thought of her being a dud pick on my main team for the rest of the year if she manages to pull through somehow.
Reading Twitter, she's already dead, it's just when the Thai Royal Family confirm it. I hope Twitter's right.

He was one of my favourite footballers as a schoolboy; him, Bryan Robson, Chris Waddle, Davie Cooper and Trevor Senior.
I didn't want to make him my DDP joker, but his days were numbered. I take no pleasure from this, but 24 points is what it is...
