Anubis, It was a good site for resource reasons but the bible-thumping message at the end was a real pain. I chose death too, after all it's better to burn out than fade away as 60 year old singer-songwriter Neil Young says
-
He was a good footballer in his day, just a shame he's turned out to be such a crap manager. At least Newcastle have Alan Shearer in charge at the helm. Probably the best they could have asked since Keegan
-
How about Graeme Souness ? He's just been sacked from his position as manager of Newcastle, he's had a couple of heart scares in recent years. A possible contender for 2007?

oh sheesh it's like Ian Stuart is back from the dead

Paul, it's a very sore subject with me regarding the spelling as my brother-in-law not only took it upon himself to alter the identity of Dr Hofmann in one dead pool list, but also he tries to think of.. I quote his words "snappy one-liners" for a description of the people chosen. To which with Eric Sykes on one list of mine he put "Frank Bryce in the Harry Potter movies" totally ignoring the fact that Eric Sykes has been a comedy scriptwriter for over 50 years and co-wrote many of the scripts for The Goon Show with Spike Milligan and was the star of his own tv show along with Hattie Jacques

Well for one thing the surname is spelt incorrectly. If he is trying to refer to the creator of LSD, he should have noticed that his surname is Hofmann (one f two n's )
-
I wonder if the person posing as a guest was my brother-in-law, we have Albert Hofmann listed in our private family dead pool and he took it upon himself to change it completely and put Abbie Hoffman who died in 1989

I'll have to give google a go and see if there are listings for the Albanian pop charts. Can you remember roughly when the single was released?
-
He said in the interview that they got to #1, I didn't follow up on any research If you've read the book, I'm more inclined to believe you
-
still nothing has been reported in the main press, I'm inclined to suspect this was a hoax
-
King Norman I of Albania that would have been a great title for him. He'd have been the only monarch of Albania to have topped the charts
-
that would certainly be a long running stint on DL if Dunny is with us for 15 more years
-
I remember seeing an interview with him a couple of years ago on GMTV where he said if he died tomorrow he's achieved the last thing he wanted to do which was have a #1 single. and he did, he teamed up with comedian Tony Hawks and they had a #1 hit single in Albania

I've got Astor on my list too. on this list I've not bothered with Deborah Kerr although she is in two of my other lists. -
perhaps we should wait until Keith Harris is admitted before we contact them and ask if they do requests

You think it's the same nursing home as Dicky O? maybe they're killing off their patients one by one
-
doen't seem to be anything reported on either reuters, BBC or CNN or even the Daily Mail's own website
-
I've not checked this thread in over 12 hours, is he still alive?

Bernie Clifton's ostrich still lives on
-
It wasn't until Bronson made his 5th Deathwish that it was finally granted
-
As far as I'm aware and according to the Tony Hancock Appreciation Society website, Hugh Lloyd is still alive. The only one I can see who has done anything recently has been Bill Kerr in a recent production of Peter Pan. Moira and Andree don't seem to have done anything for the past 15 years

Betty Driver Memorial Soapstar Superstar Thread
Phantom replied to M Busby Airlines's topic in DeathList Forum
octopus, I think you'll find that what I was trying to say was that usually with a much loved character that they've discussed with the show's producers / directors that rather than have the character move away somewhere they have them die in a way that's most befitting to the character they portray as a fitting tribute to the character that is much loved by the show's viewers. Eg Alf Roberts played by Brian Mosley. He discussed with the show's producers and directors and it was agreed that as the actor himself was unable to continue that they would write him off. The actor himself then died 2 months later after the episode was screened, although probably in reality it was about 6 months after the episode was actually recorded Lynne Perrie was actually sacked from the show, so her character was killed off after it transpired that she had run off to a nunnery. The case with Betty Driver is that we all know the character (Betty Turpin) & the actress are in the autumn of their years and their appearances are becoming less frequent. Rather than have some sappy storyline that they've moved to Devon or where-ever to be with family they would have them die around their friends Look at the character of Ethel in Eastenders, ok they killed Ethel off a couple of years before Gretchen Franklin herself passed away, but she was away for a bit and then came back as she was a much loved character
