My local Home Depot (DIY store, bit like B & Q) store was had a display of purple light bulbs that were "In honour of Prince". And while out and about yesterday saw a couple of people with Prince symbol tattoos, which being such big fans they never contemplated getting them done while he was still alive.

Could be a number of things. He was in need of a hip replacement, so there could be complications arising from that. Cancer is also a possibility. A friend of mine (the one that was recently diagnosed) only discovered they had cancer after they had flu-like symptoms that wouldn't go away after 2 weeks.
