Ferlinghetti was on my GCSE English anthology.I think there were about three or four of his poems in there. Two scavengers in a truck we spent about 5 lessons on.

Sad to see him go a very interesting man to read and listen to.Astounded he lasted this long.Like Dunn Zsa Zsa and Biggs I think he will be quoted on this site for years to come.A great tease.I wonder if his dry sense of humour and morbidity would have made him chuckle at the Deathlist. R.I.P Clive.
-
That is what made him interesting. He was a contrarian in some respects.Always politically centrist but not dogmatically so and could always say something the other side would find contentious. He was never partisan or dogmatically and radically centrist as so many of the bores that write today's columns are.
-
Yeah he had run out of words to say most likely.

Just saw the newsflash on sky .

When you are 95 this takes the stuffing out of you and leaves you weak and unable to fully recover.
-
I'd be surprised if he died from this but I doubt he will make a full recovery either.
-
Lord Bramall dead.
-
He will probably survive but unlikely to make a full recovery.Further falls and or infections could well finish him off now.
-
Yeah definitely seems like the beginning of the end.
