I remember reading that Kavner has had a bump on her vocal cords which gave her the distinctly raspy voice.She declined surgery as it could have ruined her career.Whether the consequences of declining the surgery have led to the deterioration in her voice all these years later.I have always wondered whether Kavner is a smoker.also due to her voice although that is rare for voice actors due to the damage it does to the voice ( and we probably all wondered that at some point as Patty , Selma and Jacqueline Bouvier all smoked like Chinneys).Marge.now sounds like her mother with a very bad head cold.

True but Marieke Vervoot was a notable exception.

She says she can`t imagine being able to go abroad to get euthanized as she struggles to leave the house. Also an article mentions she can`t eat which is clearly an exaggeration however with pharyngeal cancer swallowing complications are very common. Even if she doesn`t kill herself the cancer could well get her (I cant see her accepting any more treatment if required) and even if not, she is still prone to serious complications such as aspiration and infections due to a damaged immune system. Any respiratory infection or fall could well kill her due to her underlying frailty not too mention poor psychological reserve.

Dementia is hugely unpredictable in time-scales.Starmer _Smith is a good comparison as he has the same type as Bruce Willis however the fact Willis is such an A list name and clearly declining which gives him that extra picking power for deadpoolers.Starmer_Smith seems to be heading towards an exception to the rule as he has been in the final stages of front temporal dementia for several years.When you look at the case of Terry Jones the condition progressed far more quickly.As I said it's a lottery as to how long a person lasts except there are no winners.

It is one of the greatest sitcoms of all time and its humour us pretty universal in terms of appeal. Would say it is the second greatest British Sitcom after Only Fools and Horses but that is very much a British comedy in that I can see why Americans would not get it so to speak.
