When I read Barry`s words in the papers I assumed it was a cover but he sounds genuinely concerned here.Either that or he is a bloody great actor!

I agree with the first line but not the second line.I wish she would leave politics for good but I don`t wish her dead.

At first I thought it was just that she is incredibly stupid but I am starting to think it is a bit more than that especially the slowed speech.She has always talked slowly but now it is getting so slow it is suspicious.Mini stroke maybe?

This is from 2008 .I cant find the actual program but it was pretty bleak as I recall.

Rubbish.As has been said before she is a household name and her character was as iconic as Deirdre Barlow Annie Walker Hilda Ogden Dot Cotton and Bet Lynch.When her character died in 2008 it made the News at Ten as I recall.Having heart surgery at 77 when in the late stages of emphysema is risky.Emphysema does not get better and combined with heart disease can easily be fatal if complications like pneumonia occur.

Yeah but she announced she had it in 2004 and said her symptoms were there from the late 90`s.Also nearly a decade ago when she left Corrie only a third of her lungs were working.Also she had a pacemaker 4 years ago and has been hospitalized with pneumonia several times.Yeah she may last until 2018 but taking her off the list would be reckless given how ill she is.

She has had severe emphysema for years now though.

Sounds like the surgery could well kill her.

Dave Anderson Graham Allen and Karen Lumley all cited ill health as reasons for them stepping down so would be the best bets.Of course Winnick lost his seat and is nearly 84 and Sir Alan Haselhurst stood down very suddenly after saying he wouldn`t and he is 80 in a short while too.

Famous enough for DL? Looks like it has been caught early but one to keep an eye on.
