So, given his condition and Iain Duncan Smith's war on scroungers, he'd still be passed fit for work by the DWP, right? Possibly as he still has his marbles they might say he is capable of something but I can`t think of any jobs around for blind people in wheelchair`s unless it is filling a diversity quota at the BBC or something.Shame their PC quotas didn`t exist in the 70`s.If they had employed more blind people in wheelchairs there would have been a lot less peadophilia going on.

Sacks or Jimmy Carter to die first: would be a good poll questionSCI reckon Sacks will go first. That was fast, though hardly surprising. He had been diagnosed with metatatic melanoma well before Carter was. So if the course is similar in his case, would that mean that he has until 2016? Btw. this one is hilarious: Well Sacks was diagnosed with the condition in January so lasted seven months.I reckon seven months for Carter would sound about right too

Scoreboard updated for Sacks: The Unknown Man:74 gcreptile:65 Captain Chorizo:58 Sir Creep:58 Death Impends:58 Morbidkid :33 Handrejka:33 Bibliogryphon:33 Grim up North :33 Rotten Ali:33 Shaun of the Dead :33 Maryportfuncity:33 msc:0 Apologies for the delay just got off a 12 hour shift! Surprised Sacks went so quickly after his last article. At least he didn`t linger though! Only 2 teams in total missed out Sacks (one being gcreptile which loses him the lead) which makes him one of if not the most popular pick.

I suppose any dance move is complicated after 20 pints of Guinness!

You are quite right he has.Others on the list to have outlived two or more spouses are Zsa Zsa Gabor (8) Doris Day (4) Maureen O`Hara (3) and Olivia de Havilland (2).

and has now died. Wow, and just 66 years old. Apparently, some people are actually able to die of shame. Extreme stress can trigger heart attacks and strokes.I reckon it is more stress than shame.

Billy Graham`s son-in laws death got me thinking.Just how many of our candidates have outlived either a child son or daughter in law or grandchild. It is a surprisingly common trend. Herman Wouk:Son Abraham died in 1951 aged 4. Olivia de Havilland :Son Benjamin died in 1991 aged 41. Kirk Dougas:Son Eric died in 2004 aged 46.Daughter in law Jo Ann Savitt died in 2013. Zsa Zsa Gabor:Daughter Francesca Hilton died in 2015 aged 67 Billy Graham:Son-in law Danny Lotz died in 2015 aged 78 Helmut Schmidt:Son Helmut died in 1945 aged 8 months. Prince Phillip:Daughter in law Diana died in 1997 aged 36. Nancy Reagan:Step-Daughter Maureen died in 2001 aged 60 .Daughter in-law Doria died in 2014 aged c 63. Jake LaMotta.Lost 2 sons in 1998 Jake and Joseph. Doris Day:Son Terry Melcher died in 2004 aged 62. George H.W Bush:Daughter Robin died in 1953 aged 3. I was at work so didn't see it at the time but the Detroit news feed is quite famous for being live when the second plane hit the tower on 9/11. I know it's not totally to the point but hey. I would think there are a few of these incidents now and again of reporters et.al dying on a live feed (weather reporter's helicopter crashes I know of a couple), but a murder? You may be onto something, can't think of one off the top o' me noggin. SC Jill Dando a very famous British TV presenter and Newsreader was murdered by a gunman in 1999.It wasn`t televisedbut was a massive news story for many years. The man they convicted of her murder was acquitted after many years and the case remains unsolved..Benazir Bhutto was recorded dying but I don`t know if it was broadcast on Live TV.Many famous people have been assassinated on camera such as JFK Bobby Kennedy but of Course those were both well before live television.Steve Irwin`s death was filmed but never released.Peter Smedley has the distinction of being the first natural death to be shown on British TV when he committed suicide in a Terry Pratchett documentary. There was controversy a couple of years before that when a documentary of an Alzheimer`s patient Malcolm Pointon appeared to show him succumb to the disease in footage of him on his deathbed. It was later revelead though that the footage was of him falling into a coma two days prior to his death. This is certainly the only reporter shot dead on air that I can find any credible evidence for.

I thought Zsa Zsa was known for calling everyone dahling. It`s listed as a quote from her here. http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/quotes/z/zsazsagabo128177.html

Bloody awful !Does anyone know if this is the first murder ever on live TV (excluding state executions and terrorist attacks)?

A sppof site of Wikpedia Uncyclopedia has this in its entry for Zsa Zsa : "Today, Gabor is currently very old (although she insists that she is just merely old) and living in Bel Air, California. Death has come to call, but she refused to answer the phone or greet Death at the door. "He must make an appointment with my secretary dahling, I'm a very busy woman." http://uncyclopedia.wikia.com/wiki/Zsa_Zsa_Gabor Abe Vigoda`s entry is even more amusing as it states about 50 odd ways he has supposedly died including being aborted ,getting killed in a high school massacre and starving to death during the Great depression. It also lists him as being one of the few people who was "born old". The two seem to have a Dunn like appeal of being light heartedly taken the piss out of on account of them still being alive which is what Clive was about.

If he is.That would be great. He is close friends with many celebrities including Zsa Zsa Gabor and Nancy Reagan so would be a great source for updates!

I would say he is more entertaining that Giles but definitely the voice and mannerisms are similar.Strangely enough he wasn`t rich growing up I seem to recall reading .I think he was a bastard child. He also reminds me of David Starkey Michael Winner and Jeremy Clarkson in the sense of just saying whatever the fuck he feels like.He was spot on the money when it comes to Damien Hirst and Tracy Emin.I think he called Hirst "Fucking dreadful" which is probably too generous in my opinion.

Just replaced Tickle with Tutu.Upon reflection she is no way near famous enough for Death List.Still not sure about Mitchell and Mugabe.Mitchell is clearly in bad health but I`m not convinced she won`t last a few more years. As for Mugabe he looks fine so not sure about him at all.

I think he is probably as famous for withering putdowns as he is for his writing presenting and knowledge of art combined. That and his voice.

I would say Sewell is easily famous enough. He wouldn`t be known in America but he is a household name over here in Britain.Guaranteed obituary on BBC Telegraph and the Guardian.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-33990073:Found this from a few days ago.Looks like he will be in hospital for another week or so.He should definitely go back on the list next year.
-
Really.I though he just had one eye and an invisible wife who you never saw.I guess we should have seen the signs. He was always forgetting how he had figured the case out and then remembering just before he left the room.

Seems there a lot of new drugs around that are making cancer more treatable in the last couple of years.Valerie Harper is another example of someone who has likewise benefited from trial drugs.I believe some of Sam Simon`s drugs were new also and he lived an astonishing time considering the spread of his cancer..Maybe cancr in the next two decades will become more like AIDS has i.e more manageable and less of a death sentence.

sorry, but your list is over run with Alzheimer's patients and if we let them all in we'd then forget the point of deathlisting Only Prunella Scales and Jimmy Hill have Alzheimer`s on the list though as far as I know.Alzheimer`s is typically a disease that you can live with for 7-10 years .Scales I think would be a bad pick as she hasn`t got advanced Alzheimer`s and still appears in public .Hill on the other hand has had the disease far longer and his wife even said last year that he didn`t recognise her and was near enough completely robbed of his faculties. He has also had the disease for 7 years and has been in a home for quite a few now and at 87 I think is a pretty obvious choice for next year.Same goes with Antony Booth Grevile Janner and Glen Campbell.Campbell granted was only diagnosed 4 years ago but is near the final stages of the disease.I think it is a good idea to pick celebs with Alzheimers but only after they have had the disease for a few years and require full time care. EDIT:I spoke too soon .Prunella Scales has seriously deteriated: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3209629/Prunella-Scales-s-dementia-bad-forgot-d-just-seen.html

That's a bit sad... Not so much because of the old man, but I didn't know they had such young children. Twins aged 4 who will never see their father setting an example for them. At least it seems that it's only a question of time. Very sad.He must have been 68 when they were born.At that point he had already had cancer once and had serious heart problems.Seems a bit selfish.I know some people say oh I can have a child at 70 and might live until they are 30 and hey you can get hit by a truck tomorrow and have kids at 20 but surely they must at the time have had high suspicions the kids would grow up without a father. It is awful also that the Doctor`s can`t give him some sort of time frame.I mean it is not an exact science predicting when someone is going to die (we should know) but surely if you are an oncologist you have substantial knowledge of the type of cancer and the other factors that determine prognosis such as age and pre existing medical historyyou must have a pretty clear indication as to whether its a week 2 weeks 10 weeks or 20.I mean yes it isn`t going to be 100% reliable but having a time frame gives you something to work with and helps brace yourself for the inevitable.Even if it was wrong either way you wouldn`t sue them for it.
