Dame Jilly Cooper

Recommended Posts

Watching the Jilly Cooper (wiki) documentary on BBC One right now and thought it was about time this literary legend had her own thread.

Dame Jilly's age has definitely caught up with her. Whilst she can still get up and down the stairs, she's starting to look frail, hunches, and needs a cane to walk. In 2013, she lost her husband of 52 years. 3 years prior she suffered a stroke. The one thing she's got for her is she still seems to be crazy about cock, even for someone about to turn 88 in February.

Still, based on her appearance on the documentary I'd say 5 years max. A good candidate for a future DL beyond 2025.

Also survived the Ladbroke Grove train crash in 1999 (And not the only author caught up in a Rail crash around that time as Nina Bawden was badly injured in the Potters Bar crash)

She'd fit right in on deathlist then.
