When people winge about the death of the British car industry they should remember that we inflicted Tudor wood frame building styling on cars....

 

While the rest of the world were producing sleek modern cars we put an engine in Anne Hathaways Cottage...

 

Perhaps Rover can be saved if we enforce the nailing of large planks of woods on all other makes of car on sale in the UK?

Until fairly recently some of the large US 'Station Wagons' had large areas of fake wood (plastic) adorning their flanks. Never saw the point of that. My in laws had a Morris 1000 Traveller a la Anubis, and where the wood had softened a little, there was growing a bonsai oak tree.

Best car we ever had was a Sunbeam Rapier:

As you can see we were not poor and also had the "deluxe" Spacehopper which came with its own outboard motor.

Our family fave was a Vauxhall Ventora 3.3L straight 6. My dad still raves about it.
