Paris Hilton to play Mother Theresa

... well at least that's what Mr. Rajeevnath would like! Isn't it a bit late for April Fools now?

Anyone got any other suggestions for who they would like to play a particular Death List star? What do you think was the biggest mis-match where actors were playing dead "celebs"?

I read that story about six weeks ago on thesuperficial.com. I guess Paris is such a big star that even totally preposterous, largely made up stories about her still make the papers months after they happened. Or never happened, in this instance.

As for this year's list, I can count five people who've been the subject of films. Muhammed Ali and Jake LaMotta have been portrayed memorably on screen, earning best actor nominations. Because I despise all things Phil Collins I never saw "Buster", but presumably someone portrayed Ronnie Biggs.

Don't remember much about the portrayal of John Profumo in "Scandal", mostly because I was focusing more on whether Christine Walley-Kilmer was going to get her kit off. Which she did, to some degree. And in one of the Pink Panther movies, the US President is based fairly closely on Gerald Ford, but I can't remember who plays him.

From a previous year's DL, the good old King of Scotland himself, Idi Amin, was played by Yapphet Koto in one of the films they made about the Israeli raid on Entebbe.

Checked IMDB for you. Ian McKellen played Profumo in "Scandal". Ralph Brown (?) played Biggs in "Buster".

Elizabeth Taylor

Vera Lynn

George Melly

Mickey Rooney

General Pinochet

J D Salinger

Yes I probably do have too much time on my hands,

time isn't flying today, it's merely loitering with intent.

I think Michael Caine would make a fine CLS, when they post-humously celebrate the latter's life in film. Don't know who they could get to play CLS in his younger days; it'd have to be someone who could pull off 'intrepid', what with all the foraging around in the Brazilian jungle (Ewan McGregor maybe? He bears some resemblance to MC):

I foresee a story along the lines of: Old CLS on his deathbed (quite possibly in a wheelchair, so there can be some scene variation) decides to enlist a ghost-writer type (some young and attractive woman, not Paris Hilton!) to record his memoires, and the scenes of the film are the different recounted stories. Not the most original plot, but excitement and adventure abounding.

In the living or dead version?

I didn't mean to dredge this up in connectioon to Michael Foot, I was actually in a search on Michael Caine who is mentioned in the post above the oone above this one. You see, I am of the firm belief tha Caine is about to meet his maker. It's more than a hunch, it's a gut feeling and a feeling deep within my bones~~~either that or too much sugar from these Pepperidge Farm Orange Milano cookies. {{equually odd, is my mentiion of orange considering this article, which I had not yet seen}:::::

Michael Caine beaten

FURIOUS SIR MICHAEL CAINE is pounced on by a little orange man clutching a can of Tango - but gives him short shrift.

A witness at Scott's restaurant in central London said: "Michael was effing and blinding."

Fans thought the Alfie star was bigger than that... So, you will see, Michael Caine, willl not see the end of this year.

Don't discount me on this, I've had two hits this year already.

I met Sir Michael (while an extra on a shoot for "Harry Brown") about this time last year. He was working through the small hours of the morning in freezing weather and, I can report, was both healthy and robust (especially for a man of his years).

If you are correct, then you've spotted something that I would have, in any event, been looking for.

You are either brilliant - or - morre likely, not ...........I know where I'd stake my pennies.
