Patricia Ramsey the mother of murdered child beauty queen JonBenet Ramsey,

has died aged 49 from ovarian cancer.

Too bad it wasn't strangulation then she would have better appreciated the torture she put her daughter through.

For once, I actually agree with you BC!

Will you still agree when you've read this? :D

Federal authorities confirmed Wednesday that an arrest has been made in the unsolved 1996 slaying of JonBenet Ramsey. Federal law enforcement sources said a suspect is in custody in Bangkok, Thailand, where he's being held on unrelated sex charges

I'm still a bit dubious about the recent arrest. I still in some way believe that the parents had something to do with it. It's just the whole thing with the rather lengthy ransom note that was left at the scene of the crime. Unless they are able to match the handwriting then I'll be proven wrong. But what killer sits down to pen a long winded ransom note, unless it was written well in advance while the family is asleep upstairs?

If only her parents had coated her in just a little more make-up. Speaking of which, anyone else out there doubting the confession by the American guy in Thailand that he really killed her? And what's with all the Western paedos in Thailand? Their immigration controls are almost as lax as the UK's.....

Ronnie, you should have heard the debate last night on CNN regarding the case.

I'm totally dubious about the latest confession. even though the guy apparantly knew details about the crime that weren't made public, there's no indication that he had ever visited their house in Colarado. Also the man's ex-wife has come out to say that he was at home on the night that the murder happened.

In addition to that, the lay out of the Ramsey house was in such a way that someone would have had to know their way around to be able to find JonBenet's bedroom and be able to take her down to the basement without waking the parents.

Unless they come back with concrete DNA evidence then I'm going to remain very skeptical.

I believe paedophiles tend to use Thailand as I believe they have a low age of consent and also many young children are forced into prostitution purely as a way to make money to buy food or to help support their families. There is still a lot of poverty in many areas in Thailand

My husband thinks I'm crazy (well I am, but that's beside the point) because I've been saying that I think this guy is one of those people who will confess to anything for attention. It's nice to know that there are those out there who share my skepticism.

CarolAnn,

One of the things that gives me and uneasy feeling is the delay in which both parents of JonBenet finally agreed to take a lie detector test. In fact they didn't agree to one until 6 years later. Also they immediately hired a PR team rather than go through the police department. In the footage of the initial press conferences, the father seems quite calm whereas Patsy Ramsey is quite clearly under heavy sedation.

I have a guy feeling that the father in some way was indirectly involved in the death of his daughter, I'm not saying he actually killed her but I have this feeling that he had something to do with it.

I somehow feel too that the mother found out later about the connection and agreed to stand by her husband. Trouble is, if she did actually know something, she's taken that secret to her grave.

There is something that just doesn't ring true about the whole thing.

JonBenet suspect not going to be charged, the DNA didn't match. Looks like you were right to be sceptical.

John Mark Karr's story was just too elaborate to be true basically. I'm surprised they didn't detain him in Thailand, wait for the DNA results to come back before even bothering to extradite him. I'm also surprised they bothered to give him all that media attention which is what he really wanted.

I don't think the father actually killed his daughter, but I feel that he aws in some way connected with the killing.

My personal feelings on this as it's often stated that both John and Patsy Ramsey were aware that there were often paedophiles that would be present in the audience at these pagents. I feel that possibly JonBenet's father was attempting to initiate her in some sort of child porn ring and that JonBenet resisted and was ultimately murdered. The fact that JonBenet wasn't drugged and that also the killer knew their way around the house implies that it's someone who has been to the house on many occasions, to be able to find their way to the basement and also it would have to be someone that JonBenet knew and trusted. If you wake up and find a strange carrying you to the basement, you'd make a fuss and wake everyone else up in the house.

Chris Costner Sizemore became one of the most famous Americans of the 1950s but under a disguised name, after the Georgia psychiatrists who had treated her multiple-personality disorder published her life story as the startling and best-selling "The Three Faces of Eve."

Sizemore, who widely lectured on how those with mental illness could serve as functional members of families and communities, died July 24 at a hospice center in Ocala, Florida. She was 89. The cause was a heart attack, said her son, Bobby Sizemore.

The killings of three people this week in Arizona are thought to be related and authorities are investigating the death of a fourth person to see whether it is connected.

The victims include famed forensic psychiatrist Steven Pitt, who was involved in several high-profile cases, including the investigation into the death of child beauty queen JonBenét Ramsey in 1996. He was found shot dead in Phoenix on Thursday after witnesses heard a loud argument and gunshots, officials said.

The other victims were 48-year-old Veleria Sharp and 49-year-old Laura Anderson, two paralegals at a Scottsdale law firm who were killed Friday afternoon.

The home is for sale, so you can do your own investigation! (A bit of a cross-post).
