Doth Death Absolve Us?

So my problem with the origin of life all together is something has got to come from something, I don't know if it's written in black marker but that's my physics.

So chicken or egg?

800th post... sh*t does happen. :o

Sin doesn't just apply to religion (I looked it up), the world would be a scary place if no one believed in the concept of sin.

Equally this definition of absolution "release from consequences, obligations, or penalties" has me agreeing with HoS.

The concept of sin originates from roman catholicism, although the context of the word has been modified over the millennia. The concept I was referring to is the alleged transgression of the law of god. It was invented by the vatican to control people.

Talking scientifically if you believe there is no conscious god that is safely a fair opinion. Although any wack job would know that something unexplained played a role in our being. I think Science is stoned with the idea of certain seeds of life drifting in from some part of the universe and landing here. Personally I don't exclude this theory, I just have trouble putting the pieces together.

Yeah. Sh*t happend. We are not capable, as a species, of explaining how this sh*t happened. We're only capable of recognising that sh*t happened and it will take gazillions of years, of intelligent advancement, to even become close to explaining it. Only then if we're lucky and if random coincidence allows it.

My first question would be 'from where?' and my second question would be 'how?' I mean in regards to that two thousand year old book it never said how the almighty creator did things. 'Correct me if I'm wrong!?

We'll never know. We'd like to think we will because it gives us purpose but we won't ever know. The believers in the religions have their purpose, because blind faith is the easiest of all paths. The men of science have their purpose to debunk it, but that is rockier because the religions had a head start. But one thing is constant, sh*t did happen. The book of bollocks is a tool to control the mind of those that need a purpose, as is the origin of the species. That's all it is. A way for those that believe they are lost. There are no answers which is why it upsets so many people and why countless hours are spent arguing the toss but overlooking the only fact available. Sh*t happend.

So my problem with the origin of life all together is something has got to come from something, I don't know if it's written in black marker but that's my physics.

Something happend (i.e sh*t) but to go back before sh*t happened our laws of physics can't exist. They all begin from our perceived cataclysmic start. We have to believe that we have a purpose and the wheels were put in motion for a reason and our scientific and religious laws/theories cannot comprehend what happend before. As you rightly pointed out something has to come from something and as nothing we have said or done as a species can get close to explaining what it is, we conclude that sh*t did indeed happen.

The only conclusion I can project is that nothing has started, and at the same time nothing has ended. In the prime zone of the universe time reacts differently then time in this solar system. I don't like your negative response and as I've mentioned in one of my recent posts 'sh*t happens' it is a quote I've said at times in my life. But overall there is a light at the end of every dark tunnel, and time is the greatest medication on this earth. I don't care what your shrink gives you, if you can believe in yourself you got something going.

I do believe in myself. I also believe that sh*t happend and that god doesn't exist. I'm not negative I'm realistic. We're here because of a series of random coincidences. We have no higher purpose. We are not heading towards some kind of great reward. You say that there is light at the end of the tunnel. I disagree as I don't believe we're in a tunnel in the first place.

What is happening now is what counts. Anything before or after is beyond the realms of our control, being and imagination. To spend countless hours contemplating such events is a waste of the precious time we do have. Time we could spend enjoying what we can grasp and can see, hear, touch, smell and if we're lucky, f**k. Enjoy it for the things you can do and don't spend the rest of your life proving that sh*t didn't happen when it clearly did. :P

So chicken or egg?

Badger. :)

The laws of physics are drawn out from our perception alone. I'm under the impression many people actually believe just our solar system carries the proper chemicals for us to live. But what they don't get is in other areas of the universe other alternatives might exist. We have a oil problem in the US, someday a planet with other chemicals might be discovered and it could be equivalent. Deep and dark into the universe lives or lays the great unknown. I believe other forms of life exist and we have a lot to learn about the universe we have been born into.

Obviously with the tunnel I was talking hypothetical Harv. But from what I've read carefully it seems a lot of sh*t has happened to you, and the bottom line is that yes sh*t happens. This is far from a perfect world, people must learn to be civilized. I'm not very happy with the way this world is turning, but you keep your head high and do the best you can. Anybody who wants to design nuclear weapons has to be thrown in jail. Anybody in the mid east especially, they must be captured and tortured to reveal where they are hiding the worlds end. I don't care who the f**k it is, if anything is going to cause devastation it's going to be nuclear.

I completely agree. I mean if sh*t didn't happen, I honestly wouldn't be here. If my life was a joy ride and I had the girl I wanted and if I was back in the world on the famous merry go round I couldn't waste my time here. But sh*t happened. And here I am today and again I don't regret it - Because not everything is what you dreamed it would be.. Yesterday is gone, live for today.

I'm quite happy with my watered down theory of biological absorbtion.

1) We die.

2) We rot and leak our fluids.

3) We get absorbed by the ground.

To water this down further, watch the Lion King. We do, however, cease to exist at phase one. We don't live in the grass etc.

As for being absolved - I'm a complete c**t and don't really give a rat's ass.

If there is some spiritual approch to things, and I've been wrong about religion, it will simply be one tyrant for another.

At the end of the day - if we take so much pleasure from sin, wouldn't 'heaven' be a complete waste of time? It would be a paradise where you would not be allowed to partake in most fun things in life. I take 'heaven', in the Biblical sense, to be nothing more than one big church service. Afterall, according to the Bible, isn't worshipping God suppose to be your main salvation and pleasure in life?

That would be sh*t. Wouldn't it?

Would that be Ohio?

Is one assuming that everybody in the middle East is conspiring against the US and its maligned collaboraters by hiding one f*****g great big ACME bomb somewhere in the desert? Or maybe inside the Kaaba?

Just for you Harvester It's probably been a few years since you heard this (No, not All Your Base)

Mideast MidEast MiddleEast MidEastern Sandlands of the desert folks who hate the US (Most of them anyway) and are jealous of are freedom - No not Ohio - Iraq. Iran. Bang dad. Probably building bombs to destroy peoples lives. Building bombs to kill. That's right building bombs to kill. If anything ends us it's them and their anthrax loaded chemically induced halo bombs of steel. I'm not against anyone but if your designing that blast off rocket sh*t f**k you. I hope your captured by US soldiers and packed into a laundry bag. Then tossed in back of a truck and driven to base where they can tie you up and question you. No good carpet floating bastards. That goes for any government who designs those bombs. Most Sincerely f**k You.

So us westerners have never design bombs that kill innocent people?

Pray, do tell me what is the US running total on civilians dead in Iraq, troops killed in friendly fire, bombing in Cambodia/Vietnam/Nagasaki/Hiroshima etc. After you have calculated that number I dare you to come back to me with the hypocritically sick notion that the US is always right. Speculation here but to date there may have been more use of WMD amongst western allies in the various modern wars than by any "infidel" to the Whitehouse.

I will take the same line as you here and speak for millions of people without actually knowing the opinions of a whole country or continent. You may as well add Europe (including Britain minus some of its misguided politicians) into the tally of folk who hate the actions of the US.

Maybe some of our antipodean friends could add whether the people of Oz, NZ et al. are, on the whole, pro or anti?

Comments like yours make me mad. Do you actually have friends of any other origin than western? I do, friends from Arab countries in fact. They hold no grudge on me even though I am British. We talk, we laugh, we confide and we educate. Learning about other cultures helps us to realise that the rhetoric spilling from certain governments is, at best, a crock of shite.

If death absolves us, it'll have its work cut out when Bush and Blair come knocking.

I kinda think that's what I was getting at. People believe our solar system carries the necessities for us to live but it's much bigger than that. Random chaos has allowed us to exist in such an environment. It's not here for our benefit it was here first and we've adapted to it's conditions. It's highly probable that similar conditions exist in other galaxies. Even some where opposite conditions exist and other life forms thrive breathing carbon dioxide and exhaling oxygen. Who know's they may piss oil and sh*t coal. Will we ever know? Not in our primitive lifetimes.

Everything follows the path of least resistance, which is why religion is allowed to thrive. Civilisation is difficult. It takes work. Anarchy doesn't which is why it quickly spreads until someone can work hard enough to stop it. If the laws of thermodynamics are indeed laws then the more people we bring into the world the more chaos will ultimately reign. If we believe in theory that nature favours the strongest then in accordance with thermodynamics the idiots will eventually rule.

Sh*t will happen and we can't stop it. Such is the higher order of things.

I completely agree. I mean if sh*t didn't happen, I honestly wouldn't be here. Indeed. No regrets. Sh*t happening is the simplest, easiest to digest, easiest gospel to spread. Now lets cease this idle shitty banter and behave like real pirates. :o

Condensing your theory and simplifying it even further... sh*t happens. :P

Actually I have that as a screen saver. If I was a religious man I'd say that Weebls was the incarnation of the second coming. As I'm not I'll just drink rum and laugh. :)

Different times, different circumstances. It's like the Mafia, if you don't kill a certain guy at a certain time, they will end up taking you down the same exact way. The A bomb was a massive and horrible creation, but it made Japan surrender and the device had it's limits. With the technology today they could blow up half of the f****n earth. I know the US won't use atomic weapons, will the sand lands? If anybody they are the short straw right?

Pray, do tell me what is the US running total on civilians dead in Iraq, troops killed in friendly fire, bombing in Cambodia/Vietnam/Nagasaki/Hiroshima etc. After you have calculated that number I dare you to come back to me with the hypocritically sick notion that the US is always right.

I never said the US is always right. Did I? (Post where I said that). George W Bush is in a total mess and has been in one. I believe he might bring the troops home before his number is up, but the odds are against it. I mean in a decade they might have automobiles run on electric so people dieing for oil is just so unnecessarily.

I will take the same line as you here and speak for millions of people without actually knowing the opinions of a whole country or continent. You may as well add Europe (including Britain minus some of its misguided politicians) into the tally of folk who hate the actions of the US.

Governments have many faces, it's nothing new. Obviously many people hate the US and their motives in Iraq. I don't see anything wrong with disliking Bush, I don't like Bush that much myself. But the point I'm getting at, is will Britain bomb the US? No. Will France bomb the US? No. Will Germany bomb the US? No. But who will? If anybody? I'll let you answer that question, and don't say South Korea.

Comments like yours make me mad. Do you actually have friends of any other origin than western? I do, friends from Arab countries in fact. They hold no grudge on me even though I am British. Were all brothers and sisters. Your jumping to conclusions that are out of topic. I'll chill with a guy from the mid east anytime, I'll buy him a drink, roll a J. Anytime man. It's the area in general, they are the prime candidates who could cause harm at that degree. End of story.

Your use of them and are (sic) for a start led me to interpret that as the "sand lands" versus the rest of the world.

I wouldn't say South but North Korea as the most likely candidate.

History can change rapidly, look at the last 250 years. It wasn't that long ago we fought and lost against the thirteen united colonies. With the threat of Russia pointing its missiles at Europe if the US uses countries like Poland to station its new weapons who is to say in the coming century we switch allegiance to the super powers of China and Russia? Never say never.

[Aside] We already do have vehicules running on carburants other than crude oil derivatives. I read somewhere about certain countries trying to instigate some kind of OPEC to control biofuels which I read as the west getting nervous that certain poorer counties would gain more financially as they have the best climates for growing the crops. I just get wound up when I hear how we exploit the underdog. It sets me off on a tirade against anyone favouring the unjust actions of the west. You were in my line fire. Sorry, we can agree to disagree if you like?

Well don't shoot me. As I see things the main objective here is to bring the troops home from Iraq and solve the oil problem straight up. I don't think Wong Jong is much of a threat at this point, but he doesn't really seem with it, and if he tests our nerves in a flip of a coin we'll break his balls, both Brittan and the US.

Area 51 is where they test all these subjects, and I've heard some stories about this place that would seriously get you shaking in your shoes. I would imagine the guards are something like the examples in 'Michael Moore's movie' by the way f**k him and all his films. Taking only jack ass's and trying to use them as representatives for our country. A f*****g disgrace is what he is. Anyway if you approach a certain distance to this place they will just shoot you cold blood. Compare with the Berlin Wall.

In many documentaries they talk about circular metallic objects and other inventions that our tested and which most likely people label as UFO's. From what I've heard these brilliant guys work on these creations of advanced technology and the crashes are most likely failed runs and covered up so other sources aren't informed of what we are up too. Getting back on topic I wouldn't doubt in say a decade electric cars are available, but very expensive and only for the upper class.

Shaking in my shoes - doubtful. For my sins I'm a scientist and fully aware of what wide-scale destruction mankind can bring upon itself, though I wouldn't class myself as an X-files conspiracy theorist I always treat everything I hear with a pinch of salt. Not so much trust no-one, more believe no-one.
