Guest Andy Posted January 18, 2005 P.S. My screen refreshed to show that some are saying the local ABC affiliate in NY is reporting this story. But I'm still waiting for other sources, since Warrick's death will be mentioned widely in other news media given her role in Citizen Kane.

football_fan 42 Posted January 18, 2005 Ruth will be sadly missed, as she was an icon on U.S. television.
Guest optimus01 Posted January 18, 2005 She surely will be missed, I have been a fan of AMC since the inception. Her and Anna Lee from GH, two of the finest actresses that I have seen. What will happen to Pine Valley now that she is gone?? I hope that AMC will pay tribute to the Grand Dame of soaps and do it right

honez 79 Posted January 18, 2005 This is a photo of Charles, Ruth Warrick and Michael. Can anyone tell me which one Ruth is? I'm pretty sure she's not the one on the right.
Guest AMCFan Posted January 18, 2005 I'm very sad to hear this!!!! I grew up with Ruth Warrick on my screen. Phoebe Tyler was my mother's favorite character. I haven't told her this news yet - but I'm sure she'll be devastated. My thoughts and prayers are with Miss Warrick's family and friends.

Guest kalilee Posted January 18, 2005 She died Saturday, January 15th from complications of pneumonia per CNN Entertainment News. She was such a wonderful grand actress. http://www.cnn.com/2005/SHOWBIZ/TV/01/18/w...t.ap/index.html
honez 79 Posted January 18, 2005 there is some contradiction as to her age, IMDB says 1915, while TV Tome and Deadoraliveinfo both say 1916. I don't think she was that old --1,916?-- Never! She looked a lot younger than that, Weatherman. You're just trying to be nasty at the old darling's expense. Well, you should be ashamed of yourself young man. Guest Guest Posted January 18, 2005 Jennifer Wrote: Yes she is dead-everyone dies guys......... Um...yes...everyone dies, but that doesn't make it any easier. You have to understand --- we have watched this woman for years. She almost felt like a family member. So, despite that she lived a long and wonderful life, it's still a great loss. Guest 111 Posted January 18, 2005 I met her once, and helped her into a car. She was sweet, and flirty at about 85! :-) I believe it. Ive heard many hilarious stories about Ruth. She used to break in the newbies on “All My Children” by flirting with them. They’d get all nervous --- then she’d start to laugh. She was a great person. And what’s really funny is she was SO different from her character of Phoebe. Phoebe was very conservative and a total snob. Ruth was very liberal --- being involved with gay rights, AIDS charities, ect. She was a true gem. I will never forget her.
