It's quite worrying. He is huge - porn star huge and then some, I'd guess a good 10-inches and thick, very think. When he was born his father said he was "all nose and hose". But the Dirty Sanchez at the end is plain wrong...

Well, whatever the state of the ground, it won't be as bad as Raydale Park...

From worldsnooker.com Paul Hunter will have the option to rejoin the Tour at No 34 in the official rankings at the start of the 2007/08 season. If that happens, I'm watching snooker again... Even Alex Higgins might be able to win a match.

Such a shame Maidstone went bust when they did, was good to have two Kent league teams. Where are Maidstone playing these days? Still at Sittingbourne dog track? I watched them v Whitstable Town in the Kent League not too long ago.

The nearest pub to The Crucible would be a good venue...

A 3.5-on-the-Richter-scale dud. That's either a small thermonuclear weapon, or enough HMX to compress the core of a gigantic thermonuclear weapon that, thankfully, failed to detonate. I don't see this as a fake, even if western media tries to portray it as such. We'll find out (maybe) in the next few days when trace radiation leaks from the site (or not). The top estimate is 15kt - about the same as Hiroshima. We're talking very small atomic. Compare that to Russia's biggest ever hydrogen test - 57-odd MT

Where has Paul O'Grady vanished to? Seems a shame. Not seen him about at all. Nice chap. Apart from "Eyes Down" or whatever the sitcom was called...

Apparently the test was a dud. Interesting to see how much of a dud, but it's hard to determine when the explosion is underground.

Never really decided on what sort of avatar to go for. There are far too many out there to chose from so I've just given up. Diana always seems to do...

Are you talking to insecticide again, MPFC? Or making a reference to Jake Roberts' finishing move?

I agree. I've worked, erm, around a good few pathogists and they can be dark-humoured. I was at an inquest involving a 60-odd-year-old female alchoholic. She got slashed-up, and died when her dinner got stuck across her windpipe. The dog, getting hungry, smelt the food and eventually bit its way through her face to the food. Afterwards, the pathologist walked over to me and remarked: "He may have got the face, but dogs NEVER bite the hand that feeds them..." Top man!

This thread now has half the views of Richard O'Sullivan... Richard, that is, not Ronnie...

And all this happening just after tobacco companies were stopped sponsoring snooker events. Probably for the best. Snooker has cleaned up in recent years - the days of Bill Webernick (or however it is spelt) downing 20 pints a match are long gone. Although I believe a few players (including Mark King) still smoke during matches?

No, I don't think there is. I think the term "notable" is perhaps the best, given that their inclusion on the list is reliant on their notability. Someone can be notable but not well-known, perhaps if they are very well-known in a certain field. How many people down the pub over a certain age would have heard of Sir Tim Berners Lee? Then again, how many people under a cetain age have heard of Ferenc Puskas? Are they both notable - of course they are!

While the world might be a better place if it did happen, I can't see the powers-that-be chosing Paris Hilton. Nevertheless, she would be the youngest person to ever cark-it, if she was on the list and did. Helen Rollason still holds that record, when she went to the great Newsround in the sky in August 1999. And I can't believe Paris Hilton is due in the other way. From her films, she always seems to take the load outside of her body, excepting her mouth, of course.

I would suggest he was more of a celebrity than a noted personality. I mean, Fidel Castro is hardly a celebrity, but he is a noted personality. I think there is a slight difference - if the DL was just about celebrities we would have to chose candidates that 75 per cent of the general public had head of. Sadly, I think we'd lose the likes of Lady Byrd Johnson, etc, and that would be a shame.
-
Hunter a noted personality? He was hardly Thatcher, or that Tongolese King, was he...although he earned more for doing less, so he was obviously a very astute businessman, if nothing else.
-
As has been pointed out, that information is available to anyone with half a brain and knows of Internic/WHOIS. Oh, and the difference is, he is alive, whereas Paul Hunter is (just about) stone-cold now. Thinking about it, wouldn't "Pool Hunter" be a great name for a certain former presenter of Strike It Lucky?

Just to complete the set. Robin's Nest anyone? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AZleTC3AN10

This was added to YouTube four days ago. Better see it quick before they are finally closed down for gross breach of copyright http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JbeBplKL9wY

"six cysts in his stomach". Now that's what I call "Snookered". now thats a sick comment Not really. Being snookered means you are in a situation that is hard to get out of, but it is possible to recover from. Given that comment was made 16 months ago, I think it pretty much summed up Paul Hunter's situation. Sadly, for him and his family, he didn't get out of the snooker that fate put him in.

Are these rants being rated? I particularly liked the one about myself, in red type, accusing me of not being a real doctor... I think a few deserve some of the highest ratings of all-time. Even if they are not quiet up to the level of the Tongalese mob

Where Have All The Ranters Gone?
Dr Hackenslash replied to Paul Bearer's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
You can learn so much more by perceptions in death than in life. Given that the vast majority of people discussed on this site are very elderly, they haven't been discussed by the mainstream for many years. I advise you to find the Richard O'Sullivan thread - there is more information about the man there, pooled together, than anywhere else. We are not calling for him to die, we are just ensuring those who weren't touched by his career will understand him slightly more when he does. As with Albert Hoffmann, and perhaps, to an extent, Clive Dunn. -

Terrible. I'd just grabbed some cans and was looking forward to an afternoon of ranting fun. Anyone fancy a game of snooker? -
Without wanting to be overly-controversial, it says a lot about the unpredictable nature of death when 27-year-old Paul Hunter can succumb to cancer relatively quickly and Alex "Hurricane" Higgins can seem to battle every demon in his body for years. Although I will forgive Higgins for everthing after he urinated in a plant pot at a tournament. I reckon he'll be around, or at least a withered part of him will be, for a long time yet.
