  1. Vera Lynn's a couple of months older. she's English not Irish as far as I know Healey's English as well. He's from London, she's from Essex. I'm not sure who the oldest famous Irish person is but it's neither of them. Maybe it's one your terrorists?

    Dave Swarbrick (And Fairport Convention)

Arguably the greatest folk band to exist, and an awful lot of members over the years to go with it (the official website listing a total of 25 members and given this includes Paul Warren a roadie who only played drums a dozen or so gigs on the European leg of their 1975 tour it should be fairly comprehensive). And the vast majority are well into retirement age... With the death of Bruce Rowland last year at just 73 it's clear there's some good potential in this lot. The dates don't include guest appearances at Cropredy. If anyone can find more info on the guys with missing birthdays it'd be appreciated. By the looks of it this band could still be here in another fifty years if not another hundred with new faces of course - so this thread has legs. 4 dead, 21 living Ashley Hutchings (member 1967-69) (born 26th Jan 1945) Bob Brady (member 1976) (can't find date of birth) Bruce Rowland (member 1975-79 (born 22nd May 1942 - 29th June 2015 died aged 73) [cancer] Chris Leslie (member 1996-Present) (born 15th December 1956) Dan Ar Bras (member 1976) (born 15th January 1949) Dave Mattacks (member 1969-1972, 1974, 1985-1997) (born 18th March 1948) Dave Pegg (member since 1969) (born 2nd November 1947) Dave Swarbrick (member 1969-79) (born 5th April 1941) David Rea (1972) (born 26th October 1946 - 27th October 2011 died aged 66) [cause of death not released] Gerry Conway (1998-Present) (born 11th September 1947) Ian Matthews (1967-69) (born 16th June 1946) Jerry Donahue (1972-75) (born 24th September 1946) Judy Dyble (1967-68) (born 13th February 1949) Maartin Allcock (1985-1996) (born 5th January 1957) Martin Lamble (1967-69) (born 28th August 1949 - 12th May 1969 died aged 19) [van crash] Paul Warren (1975) (can't find date of birth) Ric Sanders (1985-Present) (born 8th December 1952) Richard Thompson (1967-71) (born 3rd April 1949) Roger Burridge (1976) (can't find date of birth) Roger Hill (1971-72) (born 1944/45 - November 2011 died aged 66) [cardiac arrest] Sandy Denny (1968-69,1974-75) (born 6 January 1947 - 21st April 1978 died aged 31) [traumatic mid-brain haemorrhage] Shaun Frater (1967) (cannot find date of birth) Simon Nicol (1967-71, 1976-79, 1986-Present) (born 13th October 1950) Tom Farnell (1972) (can't find date of birth) Trevor Lucas (1972-1975) (born 25th December 1943 - 4th February 1989 aged 45) [heart attack]

Whilst it can be a bit shit at times The Last Leg is a great programme most of the time and the highlight of my Friday nights. Suppose it's an acquired taste though - fyi he's had a pretty long career back in Australia before Last Leg started in 2012 which is probably where they found him from. Celebrity fifteen to one is a pile of shit though.

I've had about three cigerattes in my life - I hated the taste of them and as such have never been suckered back in. I also hate the taste of most alcohol but somehow that doesn't stop me drinking moderately and infrequently. I'm fast coming to the conclusion alcoholic, smokers and the obese should be charged for their hospital treatment.

Looks like our lads have found back their customary form. I knew they would. Rothes goal difference is already -38 and it isn't even September. Seriously, they are shite to a degree us Fort watchers can barely comprehend. Took a 0-9 pasting yesterday. Maybe we should switch allegience?

    Ideas And Possibilities For 2016

What....dead? That would totally suck. He's relatively amusing in his own way, and Dr. Demento used to play a few of his recordings. SC I know several of his songs, very funny, if you like that stuff. Any news about him? Not dead - this is the ideas and possibilities thread SC. Not much news on him really. He hasn't performed in public since 1998, but he hadn't performed since 1973 before that so it's no a great indicator. He's hasn't taught since 2001 though which either means he fancies a quiet life or is slowing down.

    The Dead Of 2015

And the bulk of our fun when we abuse them. Consider it progress, none of us has baited a bear since we started online.Speak for yourself. And I've seen the evidence :-) Cruelty to animals, you fuckers are sick; clearly lacking the moral fibre to share this space with the rest of us and obsess about the final hours of famous people. I don't think it was that kind of bear that deadsox was baiting.

how future? He may not make the main list next year but a few players might feel he is worth a punt on a DDP team He had a triple heart bypass a little over 10 years ago. In that picture he looks all 80 of his 72 years. Yeah, he became Gerry and the Pacemaker. Speaking of cilla's funeral who's the elderly woman in this photo?

Though I wonder how the press would pick it up. I mean, death of cancer isn't suspicious enough to warrant searching one's hard drive. So the deathpooler would have to write a good-bye letter instead. Someone else must read it then, and then report it to the press. Presumably, this good-bye letter needs to be very detailed so that this person realizes the potential. An easier way would be to announce the cancer diagnosis on this forum, but of course, that might cost unique pick points. I promise if I'm ever diagnosed with terminal cancer I'll do this and let the daily mail and express know.

    Queen Elizabeth II

Prince William is older than the Queen was when she took the realm, it's not about mental readiness - Charles has just waited too long not to take it. I should have mentioned that I read about that when William was still a teen. But anyhow, yeah, he ain't stepping aside. [And nor should he, really.] Except for his history of political meddling unbecoming of a modern era king and potentially ready to undo what George VI and later the Queen worked for.
