I searched and have no idea why Art Clokey (d 2010), the inventor of Gumby, didn’t have an obit posted. At least our provided search box tells me no. So first let’s take care of that goddamn injustice. Anyway, as we scoot through the 8-year time machine to present day, his son has died. Joe Clokey, a producer and the caretaker of the Gumby empire that began in the early 1950s with the creation of the pliable clay figure by his father, the late Art Clokey, has died. He was 56. Clokey died March 2 in Santa Barbara after an episode of cardiac arrest. SC

I would only add that they shouldn’t be able to pick someone thus creating a unique, seeing as Tyner wasn’t. IOW they can pick from the list of already selected names that are non-unique.

An ugly miss for all of us who didn't have him, which is basically all of us.
