    Ideas and Possibilities for 2019

Not really one for 2019; 2029 may be closer to the truth. But posting for future reference. Ian Taylor, who helped build Vitol into the world's biggest oil trader, will step down as chief executive and continue as chairman, the company said on Friday, naming a long-time ally and insider, Russell Hardy, as the new group CEO. Taylor said two years ago he was battling cancer although he continued to travel the world, chasing deals from Africa to the United States and Australia while also working as chairman of the board of trustees for London's Royal Opera House. Fair enough. However 'an nonhuman animal' should be 'a nonhuman animal'. Since we are driving down this road we may as well see all the sights, I say. SC

    Journalists

Now there are some stoic folks who read with uneasy displeasure my smarmy heartwarming puns. This entry is too easy, and you know you were thinking what I'm thinking already. So I'll let it go. The founder and former President of the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) Les Payne passed away unexpectedly at his New York home on Monday night. He was 76. The award-winning journalist, who was an editor at Newsday, suffered a heart attack, according to the New York Daily News. Les Payne.....I mean ....c'mon. SC

Country For Old Men (And Women)

Hazel Smith, a beloved Music Row fixture for half a century, died Sunday night after a period of declining health and battle with dementia. She was 83 years old and a longtime resident of Madison. She is credited with coining the term 'outlaw music'. In the early 1970s, while working as a publicist at the Glaser Brothers' "Hillbilly Central" office/studio on 19th Avenue S., she began using the term "outlaw music" to describe the songs of country renegades like Tompall Glaser, Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson. "Now, it doesn’t say this in mine or any other dictionary I’ve seen, but it said that outlaw meant virtually living on the outside of the written law," Smith told The Nashville Scene in 1997. "It just made sense to me, because Owen Bradley and Chet Atkins were doing marvelous music, but this was another step in another direction." SC

    The Deathlist Cup 2018

BTW just discovered a name for the very near future, and if someone not Cup involved posts it, you're just a selfish petulant arse. If someone who IS Cup involved posts it, you're just a gdamn dumb arse. It's a female -- that's all the info you'll get. She's no Brandon Jenkins.....but seriously, who is? She's obtuse enough could remain hidden for 12 days yet. But you people are exceptional and someone will find her. The onus is on YOU. You have the power to be sensible, or fall into one of the 'arse' categories above. What path is your destiny? SC

    Hospitalised!

We did so well talking New Orleans Saints football on this thread this month, let's try this out for size: Former New Orleans Saints safety Steve Gleason said late Monday night that he has spent the past few days at Ochsner Medical Center as a precaution. "...not where I planned to spend my birthday, but I'll be home soon," Gleason said via Twitter. Gleason turned 41 on Monday. Yes, we heard about precautions and 'just the flu' with Tom Benson. So maybe 'home soon' Gleason means the House of the Lord. SC

Where Will The Next School Massacre Be?

Two students were critically injured and a gunman died in a shooting at Great Mills High School in Southern Maryland Tuesday morning as classes began, according to the Saint Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office. The gunman who was a student at the school 70 miles south of Washington, D.C. opened fire in a hallway shortly before classes began around 8 a.m., striking a female and male student. SC (Edit: One female died. Appeared to be a targeted attack but I'll let someone else keep up with the story).

    The Dead of 2018

It may not be a deadpooling site in the strict sense, but it IS a deadpooling site minus the game of deadpooling, make no mistake. It is more of a death fanzine site. I don't see it as a 'gossip' site or in any way like TMZ. But your interpretation is noted. And now so is mine. If you (well, Joey et.al.) feel you are providing a proper source by linking to Deadline, by all means continue to do so. SC
