According to his son, Starr started getting injections in early Spring of 2015. If we add 18 months to that he will be lucky to see 2017. 2018 is out of the question. He's as much a shoe in as Glen Campbell, for instance, for 2017 should he/they make it. SC -

Wrong. DL isn't the least bit interested in American sports figures. There are those here (LMAO) who would suggest the UK media 'might not publish an obit' for Starr, or Jim Kelly for instance. As if. I can't say Gordie Howe was a miss, he had experimental injections with an unknown shelf life. Now we know. Bart Starr is a lock to die inside of 18 months. So yes, he should be in the top 15 of DL next year if he makes it. But you'll not see him. Or Jim Kelly. Or Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Or Stan Mikita. Or..... (Before I hear it let's nip this shit in the bud: Ali transcended sports.) SC -

It's civics class today: Presidents John Adams (2nd) and Thomas Jefferson (3rd) died on the celebration of their country's birth 190 years ago..... ....while President James Monroe (5th) waited another 5 years, or 185 years ago. US Vice President (under Lincoln) Hannibal Hamlin - 125 years SC

Not quite but so close as to pass merit for inclusion herein. Man poses for photo in restricted area of Machu Picchu, and apparently decided to jump in the air to make it look like he was flying. Instead, he ended up falling off the cliff.

I don't know why I decided to exclude Howe and Aherne. Now they are dead. It was understandable excluding Howe; he was on death's door but got experimental injections in Mexico and was up and active very shortly thereafter. As I stated many times 'we shall see' the lifespan of this experimental treatment.....and we now have a small sample size number: 18 months give or take. Now for the good news Eesti! QBs Bart Starr and John Brodie both in 80s also had these injections soon after Howe. Now we have a measureable of 18 months. Starr I don't think will see 2017 but he should be #1DL list next year if he squeaks by. Both of these QBs were prominent and will easily obit and should be on your 2017 list. 18 names to go Eesti SirC

Now said to be cancer free Of course, Jim Ed was saying the same for himself around this time last year, so we can probably still expect her to go in June! Well she saw June out, but getting through July looking like a shakier prospect: http://tasteofcountry.com/bonnie-brown-critical-care-prayers/ Dammitall I listed her but forgot for Shaun's DP. TMIB I don't want to ruin your 'reveal' soemtime in December (pfft) but I also don't want to research, oh let's just say cancer mums for instance, only to find I've wasted hours cuz you anticipate a new rule against that sort of name. I'm promise to have no opinion of any new rule, but would like to know what rule or rules you anticipate bringing forward for 2017 for the selfish reason stated. Even if they're 'in the works'. SC

Barry Gibb sang to his late brother while he was in a coma. The 69-year-old singer has revealed he dedicated the song 'End of the Rainbow' from his new solo album 'In The Now' to his younger brother Robin Gibb, and sang a verse from the track to his sibling two weeks before he died from cancer in 2012. Quite ironic in that Barry's singing put him in the coma to begin with. SC

Withdrawing from role due to "hospital stay" for an "intestinal complaint". Get him back on your 2017 longlists lads. Agreed he should have attention paid to him by DPers but to be fair he left the stage on doctor's advice. He didn't rush to hospital holding his gut. That said, I gave him two years mad when original news broke so if 2017 isn't his year the first half of 2018 is. SC
